The Role

This is a full-time, remote internship role for a Master's candidate in Software Engineering. The intern will contribute to the development of a cross-platform Virtual Co-Pilot Application using the Aviation Reasoning Model (ARM). Responsibilities include software development, programming tasks, database integration, and ensuring system compatibility with Linux environments. The role provides an opportunity to work on innovative AI solutions and gain hands-on experience in aviation-specific applications.

The Project

This project aims to develop a multi-platform virtual co-pilot application for iOS and Android devices by integrating and adapting the existing Aviation Reasoning Model (ARM). The virtual co-pilot will provide real-time aviation assistance, decision support, and safety guidance to pilots during flight operations.

The project involves

Backend Development

Adapting the existing ARM Python software by creating API wrappers and service layers to expose ARM functionality as RESTful services. This includes optimizing the existing codebase for cloud deployment and mobile integration.

Mobile Application Development

  • iOS application using Swift and SwiftUI Webtoolkit
  • Android application using Java/Kotlin and Android SDK and Webview

Both applications will feature intuitive interfaces for pilot interaction during flight phases

Cloud Infrastructure

Deploying the backend services on AWS using Docker containers for scalability, reliability, and efficient resource management.
