A unique opportunity to support the launch and expansion of Scientific Climate Ratings, a pioneering venture in climate risk ratings and consulting, which aims at empowering investors and issuers with science-based ratings of climate risk financial materiality.

Position overview

We are seeking a motivated and passionate intern to join our team and contribute to the development of our hybrid risk venture, combining a climate risk rating agency and a climate risk consultancy. As a Climate Risk Intern, you will assist the Climate Risk Manager in the operation and development of SCR's Climate Risk offering, helping out in climate risk assessments and contributing to projects delivery. The internship is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the rapidly evolving field of climate risk, while collaborating with our team of experts to support businesses in understanding and mitigating climate-related risks and their financial impact.

Main responsibilities

• Assist the Climate Risk Manager on a day-to-day basis in establishing Scientific Climate Ratings as the new standard for the quantification of climate risk financial materiality;
• Assist in the analysis of climate-related data, including physical and transition risks;
• Collaborate with the research team to assist in the quality control process;
• Work on maintaining our climate risk platform provider competitive analysis up to date;
• Analyse and synthetize main requirements of key regulations related to sustainability disclosures (SFDR, IFRS S1&2, CSRD);
• Support in the preparation of presentations for clients and prospects

Requirements for the role

• Have a strong interest in climate change adaptation, sustainable finance and climate risks management;
• Proactive, autonomous and eager to learn new skills within an entrepreneurial environment;
• Rigorous, and analytical with a deep attention to detail;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), ability to code (Python is a plus);
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus;
• Preferable: you are a student or recent graduate in environmental science, sustainability, economics, finance, or a related field.
