The Revenue Data Engineering Teams create the data processing pipelines that measure our customers' usage and computes revenue across all Datadog products, providing vital insights to a broad variety of users and internal stakeholders. This group of teams is at the leading edge of any new product we release. Data Engineers work with Spark and big data tooling to build highly reliable, verifiably-accurate data processing pipelines for a large-scale mission-critical process. We process complex financial calculations daily to enable critical decision making processes for Datadog and our users.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and Manage Team: Oversee a team of engineers, providing mentorship and fostering their professional growth while ensuring high performance.
  • Enhance Billing: Design new financial models to improve FinOps cost transparency and optimize revenue capture.
  • Roadmap Management: Develop and maintain the team's roadmap, prioritizing initiatives that align with company objectives, customer value and infrastructure optimization.
  • Manage Data complexity: Manage complex datasets and data transformations. Establish strong safeguards to guarantee data integrity and accurate billing.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with peer Managers, Product Managers and Technical Project Managers to align project goals and influence the evolution of the Billing Platform.
  • Ensure Scalability and Performance: Ensure infrastructure scalability and operational efficiency by leveraging technologies such as Spark, Luigi, and Airflow.

Who You Are:

  • People Management Experience: You have previous experience as a people manager or technical leader with strong mentorship skills. An ideal candidate will have experience in career development, performance management, tracking and optimizing team efficiency, OKRs, and hiring.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating collaboration across teams and across time zones.
  • Partnership Skills: Experience in building strong relationships within Engineering, Product Management, Finance, Sales Systems or cross-functional teams to drive project success.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proven experience designing, deploying, and maintaining production data pipelines for customer-facing applications. Familiarity with technologies such as Python, Scala, Spark, Luigi, Airflow.
  • Data Analytics Skills: Strong analytical skills to identify challenges and implement effective solutions. Skilled in wrangling huge amounts of data and enjoy exploring new data sets.
  • Detail oriented: Values precise work and is willing to go into the details.
