We render 150 million web pages daily and serve 100 million pages to search engine bots, powered by a hybrid architecture combining cloud and bare-metal systems to balance performance with cost efficiency.

We are actively developing agentic tools to streamline Botify usage and equip every user with advanced technical skills, enabling them to navigate tehnical tasks with ease. Our platform integrates multiple datasets from technical SEO, search engine crawls, user visits, and search engine rankings, providing automated recommendations, alerts, and optimizations such as pre-redening, content enhancement and linking improvements.

About Infra At Botify
Our infrastructure team, currently of 3 engineers, is looking for a hands-on technical leader to lead the infrastructure team, carve with them the infra roadmap and participate in the success of the engineering projects by creating new infrastructures or improving and maintaining existing ones.

Our team is responsible for the entire infrastructure and enables Botify frontend and backend stacks to run in production. We always take the initiative to improve our stack or workaround recurring problems. We support the other engineering teams (55+ persons) as needed, provide staging/sandbox environments, and participate in architecture decisions. We are involved in code reviews (both for infrastructure and platform code) and can suggest or contribute to app changes.

You enjoy team leadership without giving up hands-on technical work. You are a player-coach: comfortable guiding a team while remaining close to systems, code, and operations.

You currently work within the Infrastructure or DevOps team of a startup/scaleup or tech company.

You know the DevOps philosophy and practice infrastructure as code.

You like when the platform is up, when operations are smooth and automated, when metrics and errors flow automatically to the right persons and alert you if something goes south.

You take initiatives to make our operations better and communicate with the rest of the tech team at the right level.

Your Responsibilities
You will spend 25% of your time in team management, 50% contributing to technical improvements and 25% on the run part.

You will define and communicate the infra roadmap, prioritize projects, follow all infra projects and guarantee their success, create new infrastructures or iterate on existing ones, either on projects led by the infra team, or on projects co-driven by development squads.

You will be the go-to person for the development team when they have questions on the infrastructure or need help on the parts of the infrastructure they are building.

You will work closely with the Security team, participating in the Security committees to bring clarification on infrastructure choices and make possible the security approvals. You will participate in our yearly SOC2 audits, organizing the gathering of proofs of compliance for the infrastructure requests and and answering our auditors' questions.

You actively monitor infra costs and take initiatives to either lower them or at least not allow them to grow.

Annually, you prepare the infra budget for the next year, including the needed budget for the platform and for all our collective internal tools.

Your Qualification

• You have 8+ years of Infrastructure/cloud DevOps experience.
• You have a first experience in team management, including demonstrated leadership skills, capacity to lead a motivating vision and to include the team in the discussions to build a roadmap, and appetite for cross-teams discussions with the developer squads.
• You have strong experience working with cloud providers like AWS/GCP, ideally both, but it can be one or the other.
• You have experience managing mission critical platforms (SLA 99.5%+) and/or experience on a data processing platform.
• You use IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• You work with a high level scripting language (ideally Python).
• You have good knowledge of the Unix platform and ecosystem (we use Ubuntu internally, but it's not a requirement).
• General knowledge of CDN behaviors. Understanding configuration is a plus.
• You have professional proficiency in English and French.

Technical Stack

• A mix of AWS, GCP and OVH (bare-metal).
• Docker and our internal deployment system.
• Ansible for our instance configuration and Terraform (+terragrunt) for the infrastructure configuration.
• 1500+ servers, scaling depending on the workload.
• Load of 2000 req/s on some services.
• Github Actions to automate deployments.
