Primary Job Title: Software Engineer II (On-site) — Paris, France
About the OpportunityWe are hiring for a mid‑level software engineering role within a fast‑paced Technology & Software Development team serving enterprise customers in Europe. The role is fully on‑site at our Paris engineering hub and focuses on building reliable, scalable backend services and integrations that support mission‑critical business applications.
Role & Responsibilities- Design, implement and maintain backend services and APIs (microservices architecture) to meet performance, security and scalability goals.
- Write clean, testable code and own feature delivery from design through production deployment using CI/CD pipelines.
- Diagnose and resolve production incidents, run root‑cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
- Collaborate with product managers, QA and DevOps to refine requirements, estimate work and deliver in Agile/Scrum sprints.
- Perform code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices — testing, observability, and documentation.
- Optimize database queries, caching and service interactions to improve latency and throughput for live traffic.
Must‑Have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience and 2+ years of professional software development.
- Strong backend development experience in Java, Python, or C# with demonstrated REST API design.
- Proven use of Git, unit testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for automated build and deploy.
- Experience with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL stores.
- Practical exposure to containerization (Docker) and basic orchestration concepts.
- Fluent English; ability to work on‑site in Paris (French proficiency is a plus).
Preferred
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and managed services.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana), and automated monitoring/alerting.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and DevOps practices.
- Work on‑site in a central Paris engineering office with a collaborative, hands‑on team culture.
