About this role

We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst (Safety) who's passionate about using data to make online spaces safer.

Safety is a core pillar at Yubo, and this role sits at the intersection of Safety, Product, and Business. Embedded within the Tech team and reporting directly to the Data Analytics Manager, you'll act as the dedicated analytical partner for our Trust & Safety (T&S) organization.

Your mission will be to design and own the Safety data model at Yubo, enabling the company to measure what truly matters when it comes to user protection, risk management, and platform integrity. You'll work cross-functionally to ensure our moderation systems, interventions, and detection tools are guided by robust insights and data-driven strategies.

This role will give you a direct impact on how millions of users experience a safer, more positive Yubo, while also helping us link Safety efforts to business outcomes such as user retention, engagement, and trust.

Your responsibilites
  • Partner with the Trust & Safety team to define and monitor key Safety KPIs (e.g., moderation velocity, harmful content detection, false positives/negatives).

  • Collaborate with Data Engineering to design scalable data models and pipelines for Safety analytics.

  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to uncover behavioral patterns and measure the impact of moderation and prevention features.

  • Build dashboards and reports that connect Safety performance to broader product and business metrics.

  • Suggest advanced statistical models to better understand harmful behaviors and content transitions.

  • Provide the Safety team with tools and frameworks to assess their impact autonomously.

  • Align stakeholders across Product, Marketing, and Operations on a shared understanding of Safety metrics.

  • Contribute to the refinement of Safety data tracking, ensuring compliance with regulatory and privacy expectations.

  • Evangelize the use of data in Safety and promote a culture of experimentation and measurement.

Tools we use
  • Languages & querying: SQL (advanced), Python (pandas, numpy), R (optional)

  • Data stack: DBT, Trino/Presto, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Spark

  • Visualization: Looker, Tableau, Superset, Metabase

  • Data modeling: Fact/dimension schemas, standardized metrics, analytical model design

Other: Data validation, pipeline monitoring, anomaly detection tools

Who you are
  • You have 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, with exposure to Trust & Safety, Risk, or Compliance analytics.

  • You have strong mastery of SQL, with experience building analytical models and exploring large, complex datasets.

  • You have worked with modern data stacks (DBT, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.) and BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Metabase).

  • You have a solid foundation in statistics (hypothesis testing, causal inference, anomaly detection).

  • You are rigorous and discreet when working with sensitive data.

  • You can translate Safety issues into business-relevant insights and actionable recommendations.

  • You are comfortable presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • You are proactive, structured, and capable of prioritizing high-impact analyses in fast-paced environments.

Within a month, you will
  • Get onboarded on Yubo's Safety mission, tech environment, and data stack.

  • Learn how our moderation systems and detection tools operate.

  • Familiarize yourself with key stakeholders in Safety, Product, and Data Engineering.

  • Start exploring existing Safety dashboards and datasets.

Within 3 months, you will
  • Build or improve dashboards to help the Safety team monitor KPIs.

  • Work with Data Engineering to design or refine Safety-specific data models.

  • Deliver your first in-depth analysis on harmful behavior patterns or intervention performance.

  • Present findings to the Safety and Product teams, connecting Safety impact to user engagement and retention.

Within 6 months, you will
  • Own the domain model of Safety data at Yubo.

  • Provide recommendations to refine moderation tools and processes based on quantitative evidence.

  • Enable the Safety team to measure their impact autonomously.

  • Drive cross-functional discussions on how Safety outcomes relate to monetization and growth.

The recruitment process
  • Phone screen with a Talent Acquisition Manager

  • First interview with the Data Analytics Manager

  • Case study and debrief with Data Analytics & Safety Team members

  • Culture Fit interviews

  • A highly flexible remote work policy, 2 days at the office per month, with monthly team events for all Europe-based employees.
