MISSION: 

• Ensure Production and Testing environments are consistently operational.
• Support and enhance Development Experience.
• Modernize, economize, and make our deployment resilient, maintenance-friendly, and continuously monitored.

OUTCOMES:

• Increase coverage of existing Production infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code by 25%.
• Implement base Docker images updates automation.
• Implement automation for multi-environment Nginx configuration delivery.

HOW YOU'LL RAMP: 
By Day 30

• Understand SDLC for Smartcat's applications.
• Get familiar with DevOps tools and processes.
• Confidently navigate through Platform Infrastructure.

Day 60

• Join the process of being on duty in a team, be able to analyze problems, use observability / monitoring tools and handle investigations.
• Support Production releases and address blockers of CI/CD process.

Day 90

• Complete two quarter deliverable in alignment with Outcomes.

WHAT YOU'VE ACCOMPLISHED:

• Proven experience in building, managing, and troubleshooting distributed infrastructure and network systems across hybrid or cloud-native environments.
• Hands-on experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines with support for multiple environments. Preferred tools: GitLab CI. Alternatives: Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, ArgoCD.
• Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies. Preferred stack: Kubernetes with Helm and Docker. Alternatives: OpenShift, Nomad, containerd.
• Experience with configuration management tools. Preferred: Ansible. Alternatives: Chef, Puppet, SaltStack.
• Understanding and practical use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. Preferred: Terraform. Alternatives: Pulumi, AWS CloudFormation, Crossplane.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating scalable cloud infrastructure. Preferred cloud platform: AWS. Alternatives: Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Proficient in Linux/Unix system administration, including shell scripting and performance tuning.
• Experience in deploying and maintaining monitoring and observability systems. Preferred stack: VictoriaMetrics and Grafana, ELK Stack. Alternatives: Prometheus, Loki, Zabbix, Datadog.
• Practical experience in incident management and postmortem analysis in high-availability, production-grade environments.
• Familiarity with document-oriented databases. Preferred: MongoDB. Alternatives: Amazon DynamoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, Couchbase.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Ability to excel in a high-paced, startup-like environment with a strong sense of urgency, focus, and persistence.
• High integrity, full ownership of responsibilities, and a proactive mindset toward solving problems.
