The use of physiological measures in elite and professional team sports is increasing as teams seek to optimize athletes' internal load and overall performance capacity. Coaches and performance staff increasingly rely on data-driven decision-making to support long-term athlete development. Firstbeat is on a mission to promote the practice of physiology in team sports, and we are now strengthening our role in team sports in France. Our goal is to help teams use science-based physiological data to optimize and protect athlete performance.

Role Overview

We're looking for a well-connected Account Manager with strong networks in professional team sports, especially in France, to help teams adopt and integrate physiological insights into their daily coaching and performance processes.

In this role, you will:

  • Build and nurture relationships with elite and professional teams
  • Support teams in understanding and implementing physiology-based practices
  • Represent Firstbeat locally and help shape our offering through market insights
  • Contribute to our growth by identifying suitable teams and guiding them through evaluation, onboarding and daily use.

This role is ideal for someone with a background in coaching, sports science, or performance management who also enjoys working with people, understanding their needs, and helping them succeed. You will thrive if you are self-directed, collaborative, and passionate about athlete performance and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage key decision-makers (S&C coaches, performance directors, head coaches, technical staff) in elite and professional clubs.
  • Build long-term relationships and act as a trusted partner for teams exploring and adopting physiological insights.
  • Present and demonstrate our software, adapting the message to each team's context and training philosophy.
  • Guide clubs through the decision-making and onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition into using Firstbeat.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clubs, federations, and sports organizations in France.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between French-speaking clients and Firstbeat, ensuring excellent communication and customer experience.
  • Support existing customers with technical or product-related questions.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of physiology and its role in training, recovery, and athlete performance.
  • Familiarity with concepts such as internal load, recovery, readiness, and fitness testing.
  • Experience working in elite or professional team sports (e.g., coach, S&C, performance), with an existing network in the French sports ecosystem.
  • Sales or partnership experience in sports or technology is beneficial but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work.
  • Excellent communication skills; fluent French required, English also needed.
  • Passion for sports performance and the meaningful use of technology in coaching.
