| YOUR CHALLENGE? We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be expected to: - Prepare and provide technical reports and method statements to substantiate the justification of civil engineering structures, site infrastructure, and earthworks at the nuclear power plant; - Act as a geotechnical engineering expert for nuclear applications, as directed by the unit head across the company; - Initiate and lead the preparation of technical specifications for geotechnical analysis and design packages to be subcontracted to the supply chain; - Serve as a reviewer for engineering work provided internally or externally by partners/subcontractors; - Actively contribute to site selection, evaluation, and characterization programs by drafting and reviewing specifications for geotechnical and geophysical survey campaigns; - Interpret factual field investigation reports and prepare interpretation reports; - Support the global engineering team in optimizing the design and construction throughout the entire reactor lifecycle.
What we expect from you| WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
- Master's degree or higher in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, civil or structural engineering, or equivalent;
- Proven experience in geotechnical analysis and design within complex nuclear projects (or another highly regulated environment);
- Experience in the design of shallow and deep foundation systems, including seismic design and evaluation of soil-structure interaction effects;
- Demonstrated knowledge of numerical modeling software for geotechnical analysis and design (FLAC, PLAXIS, etc.);
- Experience in site-scale analysis of soil columns, consolidation, and settlement;
- Ability to undertake stability evaluation of earthworks;
- In-depth knowledge of codes, standards, regulations, and operational requirements in the UK, US, or Europe;
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in technical report writing;
- Willingness to travel in the UK and Italy to support the engineering team.
- Fluent English required.
