Spore.Bio is a deeptech start-up born in 2023, building a new paradigm in the quality control systems in Food&Beverage, Cosmetics, and Pharmaceutics factories.
After spending a lot of time in factories environments, we saw the pain it was to make sure products were safe. Traditional quality control has heavy constraints and long waiting times. To change that, we decided to build Spore.Bio, a new generation of microbiological testing.
Our team is dedicated to bringing technology and developing a cutting-edge solution, based on advanced optical and deep-learning technologies, to detect bacterial contamination within seconds.
Are you ready to revolutionize microbiology monitoring in factories? Spore Bio is seeking a R&D Microbiology Lab Technician to develop our cutting-edge data science solution. Join our dynamic team of R&D experts and product managers, and help us build the future of industrial microbiology.
About the role- Bacterial culture preparation and execution: Prepare and conduct bacterial culture techniques on Petri dishes, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Protocol development, data acquisition, and analysis: Assist in developing and improving culture protocols, collect experimental data, and conduct preliminary analyses to optimize results.
- Sample management and traceability: Handle and manage samples with precision, ensuring complete traceability and proper documentation.
- Laboratory operations and maintenance: Involvement in managing laboratory tasks, including supply orders, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with hardware and machine learning teams to develop a robust microbiology and food data library.
Required qualifications/ experience :
We value curiosity, initiative, and a growth mindset — not every box needs to be ticked to apply.
- Educational background and experience: Proven experience as a laboratory technician, ideally with a focus on microbiology. Familiarity with the food industry is a plus.
- Microbiological culture knowledge: Understanding of bacterial culture methods and techniques relevant to industrial applications.
- Data management skills: Proficiency in data management tools (especially Excel) and experience with laboratory notebook systems for accurate record-keeping.
- Research and development interest: Motivated by research and development activities, particularly in developing new lab methods.
- Excellent communication skills: Comfortable interacting with different teams and levels of the organization, as well as external stakeholders. English proficiency (B2 level or above) is an asset for effective cross-team collaboration.
- Personal attributes: Energetic, proactive, with high attention to detail and an ability to work autonomously.
We don't expect you to know everything from day one. What matters most is your curiosity, drive to learn, and willingness to dive into challenges.
- Work in an innovative and rapidly growing startup.
- Participate in exciting and impactful projects.
- Evolve in a collaborative and stimulating work environment.
- Opportunities for professional development and continuous training.
