At Ascendance we are building tomorrow's hybrid-electric aviation with ATEA, a unique Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft powered by STERNA, our in-house hybrid-electric propulsion system. Your role :

The Embedded Software Architect (all gender) is at the core of our constrained avionics systems providing control, communication, data exchange and HMI to guarantee reliable flight operations, by respecting the functional requirements as well as aeronautics authority's constraints.

You'll derive the avionics functional and performance requirements onto the software leading to the design, implementation and test of the proposed solutions. You'll be responsible for ensuring compliance with standards (DO178/DO331/DO254) and discuss the applicability of these standards with the certification bodies (mainly EASA).

Your main responsibilities will be :

  • Contribute to warrant the DO178C certification path for our embedded software.
  • More generally support the application of ARP4754, ARP4761, DO160, D0331, D0254…etc… for hardware and software development,
  • Ensure applicable safety standards are respected through our software development process.
  • Propose the design and coding of embedded software to respond to SW requirements and high-level design.
  • Contribute to improve our avionics software process development.
  • Push forward solutions in terms of innovative algorithms and embedded constrained software applied to avionics.
  • Support and drive embedded computer selection

Profil recherché

The job has been made for you if you have :

  • A significant experience in DO178C project as well in ARP's and DO's related to embedded software and hardware
  • A significant experience in real-time OS (ARINC653).
  • A strong experience in coding algorithms in C under constrained environments.
  • Knowledge in model-based design (Matlab/Simulink and/or SCADE).
  • Hardware experience for embedded computer as well as in electronics and network communication protocols
  • Have a hands-on innovative approach to embedded software engineering with a taste for challenging problems.
