Brut. is an international digital media that covers today's world and the people who shape it. We are present on the ground, bringing you live updates and reports. We share stories that shed light on the major issues of our time. In France, we reach 100% of the 15-34 age group and are the leading source of information on social media. Our international presence is increasingly important, with rapid growth particularly in America, Africa, and India.

As an Anglophone Africa short-form producer, you will be a key member of our editorial team based in Paris. Brut. is currently expanding into several Anglophone African countries, including Nigeria, South Africa, and Kenya and building a strong audience there. We are therefore looking for journalists based in Paris who have an excellent understanding of these countries, their cultures, and their key political and social challenges.

Responsibilities: 

- Researching and proposing subjects and angles to cover on TikTok and Instagram 
- Curating public reels and TikToks from users, writing scripts, and producing stories
- Producing TikToks and Reels
- Developing new original formats and styles
- Monitoring the adaptation of Brut videos to vertical format
- Tracking statistics and best practices
- Participating in editorial conferences 

Preferred Qualifications:
- We are looking for journalists/producers with deep knowledge of Kenya, South Africa, or Nigeria.
- Creativity and strong interest in innovative journalistic writing styles
- In-depth knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, and the audience on these platforms
- Keen interest in politics and current events, pop culture
- Familiarity with internet memes
- Resourcefulness, attention to detail, and ability to work well in a team
- Education in journalism or communication
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Premiere, Illustrator, Photoshop) 
- Based in Paris
