Project Manager / Project Leader – Discovery & Preclinical Programs

Job Summary

We are seeking a Project Manager / Project Leader to drive the operational execution and governance of discovery and preclinical programs. This role is central to ensuring rigorous project structuring, budgetary control, contractual follow-up, and timeline delivery across cross-functional R&D teams.

The position requires a strong analytical and organizational profile, with solid experience in program coordination, financial and resource tracking, and decision-support for senior management. Scientific understanding of biologics R&D is expected, as well as therapeutic oligonucleotides.

The role reports directly to the VP, Discovery & Preclinical.

Work location : Paris (15ème) and Villejuif from March 2026

Full-time permanent contract

Keys responsabilities :

• Lead R&D projects through early discovery to preclinical candidate nomination
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and risk registers
• Coordinate input and deliverables from cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., antibody engineering, biology, pharmacology, CMC)
• Facilitate team meetings, track action items, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource allocation
• Identify scientific or operational risks and propose mitigation strategies
• Provide regular project updates and decision-making support to the VP and executive team
• Ensure clear documentation, data tracking, and reporting across R&D programs
• Encourage a transversal mindset driven by collective curiosity and learning

Qualifications & Experience required

• Strong experience in structuring and managing complex R&D projects with multiple stakeholders
• Demonstrated capability in budget tracking, resource planning, and timeline management
• Solid understanding of biologics and oligonucleotides R&D processes (discovery, preclinical development, externalization)
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency with project management and reporting tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Excel, PowerPoint)
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus
