We are an early-stage, Paris-based, startup developing a breakthrough In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) platform to transform oncology diagnostics. We've moved past the POC phase and are looking for a talented Lead Engineer to own the development of our microfluidics-based automat.
The Position
You will be a foundational member of the team, helping to shape our technical culture and, for the right candidate, joining as a late-stage Co-Founder with significant equity upside.
You will be the primary driver of our microfluidic hardware. You'll take our current concepts and turn them into functional, repeatable, and manufacturable diagnostic chips. You should be someone who loves the "blank page" and is energized by the challenge of making high-precision diagnostics work in a lean startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Iteration: Lead the design and rapid prototyping of microfluidic chips for sample preparation and biomarker detection.
- The "Whole" System: Go beyond the chip—help integrate fluidic controls (pumps, valves, sensors) into a cohesive instrument. Experience with UV and electrophoresis systems ideal.
- Lab Leadership: Own the testing and characterization of devices. When a design fails, you are the one digging into the "why" and fixing it.
- Late founder : You want to be a founder, and are genuinely interested in leading a startup move beyond proof of concept
- Path to Scale: Transition designs from soft lithography/3D printing toward scalable materials (thermoplastics/injection molding) as we grow.
- Communication : Ability to collaborate with external advisors and biologists as well as engage with investors.
Who you are
- Industry Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in an industry setting (biotech, medical devices, or hardware startups).
- Technical Foundation: Degree in Microfluidics, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
- Prototyping Grit: You know your way around a lab. You've built things that didn't work, and you know how to iterate until they do.
- Entrepreneurial Spark: You're excited about the startup environment. You want more responsibility, more skin in the game, and a faster path to seeing your work in the real world.
- You have experience working in biology environments (BSL2 and with blood a plus)
- A "hacker" mindset—willing to build custom test rigs or write basic scripts to automate your data collection.
