Join our dynamic team as a Transport/Logistics Coordination Engineer in the heart of Paris You will play a crucial role in managing transportation activities for a leading player in the logistics industry, ensuring seamless operations and collaboration with suppliers and logistics providers.
Role Overview
- Coordinate daily transport activities and manage interfaces with suppliers and logistics providers.
- Collect and remind stakeholders of preliminary data and documentation such as packing lists and Export Control Certificates.
- Record data in the material management system, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Receive and review shipping documentation from various stakeholders, managing it according to project work processes.
- Prepare shipping documentation for import operations.
- Administer the Contract of Carriage and issue requests for quotations when necessary.
- Issue instructions to initiate various transport operations.
- Manage customs forms and declarations for shipments from France as applicable.
- Track pickups and transport operations end-to-end.
- Monitor the quality and accuracy of data and documentation throughout the process.
- Continuously update information in the materials management system.
- Prepare and issue approval forms as defined in the transport execution procedure.
- Update reports on complaints, backloads, damages, and billing status.
- Review and validate freight forwarders' pro forma invoices.
- Monitor the performance of contracted suppliers and freight forwarders.
Skills & Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of the transportation industry, including practices, incoterms, and line terms.
- Familiarity with material management tools, specifically Smat.
- Experience in transporting freight on projects.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal skills: attentive listening, inclusive collaboration, adaptability to change, and integrity in collaboration.
Education & Experience
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in logistics coordination or transportation management.
