Payroll and HR Specialist (France) – Maternity Cover
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Leave Replacement)
Duration: March 2026 – December 2026
Hours: Part-time, 32 hours per week
Location: Remote (France or Poland )
Reports to: Director of HR EMEA

Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll and HR Specialist to join our HR and payroll teams on a fixed-term basis to cover a maternity leave. This role combines the responsibilities of preparing and verifying the payroll with broader HR administrative support for our France operations of approximately 40 employees.
As the first point of contact for France-based employees on HR and payroll matters, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate payroll processing, compliance with French labo u r legislation, and smooth day-to-day HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
Prepare, v erify and validate monthly payroll processing (provided by ADP) to ensure accuracy and compliance with French regulations
Analy s e payroll data, payslips, and employee benefits for accuracy and regulatory compliance
Monitor and coordinate social and tax declarations (DSN, charges sociales , etc.)
Liaise with external payroll provider and social security organisms (URSSAF, Mutuelle, Prevoyance , Medicine du travail etc.)
Manage employee benefits administration and ensure proper application
W ork closely with the Payr oll Mana ger EM EA
HR Administration
Prepare and manage employment contracts, amendments, and related documentation
Administer absences, paid leave, and time-off tracking systems
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HR information system (Workday)
Support onboarding and offboarding processes for employees (DPAE, induction , badges…)
Handle internal administrative procedures and communications
Compliance & Legal
Conduct legal and social monitoring to ensure proper application of French labo u r legislation
Maintain mandatory legal documents including notice boards ( affichages obligatoires ) and workplace risk assessments (DUERP)
Ensure health and safety compliance in the Paris and Toulouse office s
Stay current with changes to employment law and collective bargaining agreement ( Syntec )
Employee Support & Relations
Serve as the primary contact for France employees regarding HR and payroll inquiries
Provide guidance on internal policies, procedures, and benefits
Support the HR Business Partner with employee relations cases and with the bi-annual performance review cycles
Assist with Works Council (CSE) meeting preparations and documentation
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in French payroll preparation and administration
Strong understanding of payroll data, payslips, employee benefits, and compliance requirements
K nowledge of French labour law and social security regulations
A bility to verify payroll accuracy and ensure regulatory compliance
Experience coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong sense of confidentiality and professional ethics
Ability to work independently
Proficiency in HR information systems and MS Office
Fluency in French and good English written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Payroll or HR qualification
Familiarity with the Syntec collective bargaining agreement (Convention Collective Syntec )
Experience in an international or multi-country environment
