Today, the mid-market segment (300 to 5k employee companies) is vastly underserved when it comes to their procurement processes. These companies struggle with outdated and old fashioned tools, dragged down by decades of tech legacy that create more problems than they solve in the day-to-day work of their employees.

Pivot is committed to solving this by building a smart, engaging and user-friendly procurement tool for employees, streamlining purchase processes while providing the right level of control and reporting. We are creating automations and integrations that simplify the work across all finance teams, freeing them up to be more strategic... and surely happier too

The adventure started mid-2023 with three founders, former C-levels from fintech unicorns (Qonto and Swile) and highly experienced engineer from top-notch tech companies.

Since then we've raised €5M in pre-seed and €20M in Series A with tier-1 investors and built a team of 50 with a product operating with +50 customers across 15 countries.

We are looking for smart, execution-driven people to join our team, with a strong focus on excellence and a desire to achieve great things as a team.

What you will do

Be among a strong engineering team (23 engineers) and help building the product, back-office and underlying tech

• Be one of our early engineers, and help building the whole product and the underlying tech, hand-in-hand with the rest of the team and the CTO.

• Work closely with frontend engineers and product designers to inform/refine/validate design concepts.

• Evolve our backend architecture to Domain-Driven Design (hexagonal) to improve modularity and long-term scalability.

• Design efficient, resumable and auditable sync jobs for ERP integrations — ensuring reliable data flow, performance at scale, and clear traceability.

• Implement audit logs across the application, capturing events in MongoDB and implementing smart processing.

• Rationalize the usage of queue brokers and migrate heavy background jobs to dedicated workers to improve reliability, scalability, and performance.

• Contribute to the team continuous improvement with new ideas, processes and tools.

• You have 6+ years of experience in software engineering.

• You are fluent in English - it is our business language.

• You have strong programming skills (e.g. Java Spring Boot, or Kotlin / Scala / C# / Rugby / Go / Python).

• You have an end-to-end understanding of backend systems (database, authentication, API, security, performance…).

• You have a strong knowledge of microservices architectures.

• You are rigorous about best practices (e.g. technical design, testing, code reviews,

  documentation, maintenance…).

• You like solving problems and making complex things simple.

• You have a product mindset, always thinking about the user experience and delivering value.

• You are curious and open-minded, (almost) language agnostic and non-dogmatic.

• You know how to write quality code, how to code efficiently, how to make right trade-offs.

• You always want to keep learning and you are comfortable with confronting ideas.

• You enjoy the cadence and want to bring the best of yourself within an early-staged startup.
