Mission

Join Qonto's Data Engineering team as a Data Engineer Intern to help build and maintain the data infrastructure that powers data-driven decisions across the company.

Impact

As a Data Engineer Intern, you'll work closely with Victor Cumer, our Data Engineering Lead, and join a team of 7 highly skilled engineers building the data backbone of Qonto.

As a Data Engineer Intern at Qonto, you will

Build and maintain data pipelines that move and transform data across our systems, working with both batch and real-time processing.

Create web interfaces that help data analysts and data scientists access and use data more efficiently—making internal tools that other Qontoers will use.

Support data ingestion projects by connecting new data sources (both internal systems and external partners) to our data platform.

Improve tooling and automation for the data engineering team—streamlining workflows, reducing manual work, and making the platform more reliable.

Work on exploration projects that test new approaches or improve existing systems.

About your future manager

Victor Cumer, our Data Engineering Manager. He joined Qonto in October 2024 after leading data platform teams at Veepee, where he built scalable infrastructure for one of Europe's largest e-commerce groups. Victor has expertise across the full data stack and values clear communication and continuous learning. He'll work closely with you to support your growth throughout the internship.

About You

Python programming: You're comfortable writing Python code and eager to apply it to real data problems.

Database fundamentals: You understand basic SQL and database concepts (tables, queries, joins).

DevOps fundamentals: Understanding of CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment), Kubernetes, GitLab CI, ArgoCD is a plus.

Learning mindset: You're genuinely curious about data infrastructure and excited to learn about data pipelines, orchestration, and cloud platforms.

Collaboration skills: You communicate clearly about technical topics and enjoy working with others. You're comfortable giving and receiving feedback in a team setting.

Academic background: You're currently pursuing studies in Data Engineering, Data Science / AI, Software Engineering with data-specific modules.

Languages: You speak English, French is a plus
