Senior Flow Assurance/Well Performance Engineer

Grupo Simples Oil is looking for an experienced Senior Flow Assurance Well / Performance Engineer  to provide engineering and operational support on a secondment basis for the FPSO Project (Block 20/11). Reporting to the Field Operations Leader, the position will provide engineering and operational expertise during project preparation, commissioning, and start-up, ensuring optimal well and subsea performance throughout the life of the field.The role requires strong technical command of Flow Assurance and Well Performance Engineering within deep offshore FPSO developments, with proven experience in thermo-hydraulic multiphase flow, PVT and flow simulations, production chemistry, and subsea systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing flow assurance strategies, supervising and validating studies for start-up, steady-state, and transient operations, and ensuring reliable production system performance through accurate modelling and data validation using tools such as OLGA, LEDA, OCW, DOF, GAP, and PROSPER. This position demands a rigorous and analytical mindset, a strong sense of professional integrity, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams, including Field Operations, Reservoir, Drilling & Completion, and Subsea  to deliver results aligned with project objectives and HSE standar.

Assignment Details:

• 2025: Office-based in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (Paris area);
• 2026 onward: Based in Luanda for FPSO start-up and operations;
• Work Schedule: 5 days per week (residential assignment);
• Start Date: To be confirmed according to project planning.

Responsibilities:

• Provide operational and technical support to Field Operations teams through Flow Assurance studies and expertise;
  
• Prepare required Flow Assurance documentation for Kaminho start-up and operations, including Hydrate Prevention Philosophy, Pigging Philosophy, preservation procedures, and Operating Envelopes;
• In collaboration with the Production Chemistry team, ensure all deposit-related flow issues (sand, asphaltenes, etc.) are adequately addressed to minimise process upsets;
• Develop and maintain Flow Assurance monitoring tools (OLGA Model, LEDA, OCW) and maintain Flow Assurance dossiers and models updated;
• Define Flow Assurance requirements for medium and long-term production optimisation activities;
• Identify opportunities to optimise and debottleneck facilities while maintaining system integrity;
• Support site operations for start-up, restart, and preservation activities, including hydrate risk management and hot-oiling needs;
• Ensure continuous communication with Reservoir and Well Performance teams to integrate test data and PVT updates into Flow Assurance models;
• Participate in Flow Assurance and process optimisation activities, adjusting operating procedures based on field observations;
• Prepare production wells' start-up, ramp-up, and performance targets;
• Develop well start-up procedures and production monitoring tools (DOF, GAP, PROSPER);
  
• Perform periodic prognosis and update of well potentials considering facilities network constraints and well test results;
• Define production targets and assist Site Operations in achieving them;
• Contribute to production budget and forecasting exercises;
• Perform diagnosis studies and propose corrective actions for underperforming wells in coordination with Reservoir, Drilling & Completion, and Field Operations;
• Provide inputs for well intervention requirements, cost evaluation, and production gain estimates;
• Build and maintain well and network models to monitor well behaviour and detect underperformance;
• Support Site Operations in daily well configuration, well testing coordination, and data validation to ensure accurate production and injection reporting;
• Contribute to well performance optimisation, transient analysis, and operational troubleshooting;
• Maintain and ensure deployment of Digital Oilfield tools (IFM/IVM);
• Participate in environmental management and energy efficiency processes to ensure compliance with hydrocarbon discharge and flaring commitments;
• Promote HSE culture and ensure safety-related topics are treated as top priorities;
• Demonstrate exemplary behaviour with regard to HSE rules and Company Ethics.

Requirements:

• Engineering degree or equivalent;
• Professional Experience of 15–20 years in the Oil & Gas industry and major deep offshore projects/Fields, including minimum 5 years in Flow Assurance Engineering on equivalent projects/Fields and minimum 5 years in Well performance role on an operated asset;
  
• Proven experience in Deepwater production, subsea systems, thermo-hydraulic multiphase flow, production chemistry, PVT and flow simulations, operations optimization;
• Strong analytical capability, technical leadership, teamwork, communication, and cross-functional coordination;
• Fluent in English (mandatory).
