About the role

You will join the Analysis and Contextual Experience team, which is responsible for the autofill engine and proactive security features at the core of the in-browser product experience. Our goal is to improve the online browsing experience of our users, leveraging cutting-edge technology to help them access services more quickly and easily while keeping them safer online. This encompasses ML-based webpage analysis for autofill and phishing detection, as well as in-browser nudges and alerts that guide the user to stronger credential security habits. As a backend engineer you will collaborate closely with frontend engineers developing our web extension, other backend engineers and security engineers to deliver new features to our users while complying with our security commitments. Using confidential computing and post-quantum cryptography will be part of your scope. Note that you do not need to be expert on these topics, as you will get support to learn on the job.

Location-Specific Information:

You will be based in Paris, with English as your working language. Our stack:

• Programming languages:

  • Backend: NodeJS, Typescript

  • Frontend / internal tooling: React, Typescript

• Infrastructure and storage layer: AWS EC2, AWS Nitro (confidential computing), Amazon ECS, MySQL on RDS, Redis, S3

• CI/CD: Gitlab, Sonarqube, Terraform

• Logging and monitoring: ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)

In your role, you will:

• Innovate As an engineering member, you'll work closely with the teams to discover creative solutions that drive the company's expansion

• Work in a highly collaborative environment where everyone shares ownership on the company's success

• Participate to the product and technical design discussions to define the best solutions

• Implement backend projects from end to end: write clean code, easy to maintain and understand, implement test and manage deployment

• Manage quality of our application: monitor cloud applications, KTLO

• Learn every day, and share your knowledge with your co-workers

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in software development

• 3+ years of experience in developing backend applications

• Experience in and Typescript

• Experience in working with infrastructure on AWS

• Experience working in a product development team with agile practices

• Know how to code, but also to deploy, test, and monitor cloud applications

• Interested by quality and security of applications

• Fluent in English (as the team is international)
