Site Lead – Special Projects– Reactor Services

Mission

Within the Operations Division, which carries out maintenance and modernization activities on Nuclear Power Plants, you are responsible for the technical execution and timely completion of interventions, in compliance with contractual requirements, for the Television Inspection and Special Projects scopes within Reactor Services.

Special projects is constituted of a large panel of operations in different field (Mechanical, NDE, Visual Inspections…) in France but also in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

The Field Supervisor is responsible for the functional management of their teams with objectives of quality, safety, and productivity. They organize and assign work to the teams and ensure that activities are performed in accordance with quality standards and delivery deadlines. They communicate to the Project Manager their material and human resource needs based on workload, as well as associated logistics.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assume full technical responsibility for site personnel and ensure the launch, organization, and supervision of the field teams.

  • Serve as the client's primary technical point of contact throughout the project, responding to requests in accordance with the contractual framework.

  • Optimize the technical, contractual, and economic performance of interventions.

  • Comply with and enforce Westinghouse contractual and internal requirements.

  • Provide the client with advice and expertise related to the intervention.

  • Complete all tracking and traceability documents and use feedback to propose areas for improvement.

  • Update documentation, tools, and practices based on operational feedback (REX).

Additional tasks include:

  • Preparing activities in line with site preparation milestones (work package, planning, resources, etc.).

  • Expressing logistical needs required for site operations.

  • Ensuring compliance with safety and radiological protection rules.

  • Evaluating personnel and reporting attendance data to the Site Manager/Project Manager

  • Providing technical support and coaching to team members.

  • Managing relations with client representatives regarding logistics, access, safety, hygiene, and security.

  • Ensuring traceability of all actions and events related to the activity.

  • Reporting any deviations in quality, safety, radiological protection, or security.

  • Managing equipment installation and teardown phases.

  • Managing refurbishment of the equipment

  • Ensuring proper use and monitoring of equipment in collaboration with the Work Package Owner.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Delivering training within your area of expertise.

  • Participating in improvements, development, testing, and qualification of processes.

Working Relationships

Internal:

  • Functional supervision of intervention teams.

  • Reports functionally to the Project Manager during site execution.

  • Reports hierarchically to the Operations Manager.

External:

  • Interactions on site with EDF personnel during outage activities.

  • Direct relationship with the client.

Skills

Knowledge:

  • Technical expertise in at least one of the following fields: mechanics, electrotechnics, electronics, NDE.

  • Knowledge of the nuclear industry.

  • Fluent English.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong technical background with experience in field operations (TV inspection, mechanical activities, piping, NDT – minimum 5 years).

  • Team management and coaching skills.

  • Interface management and client relationship skills.

  • Strong writing, synthesis, and communication abilities.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.

  • Rigor and sense of responsibility.

  • Organizational skills, autonomy, and anticipation.
