internship opportunity
for a frontend engineer to lead the
French (France – fr-FR) localization
of our mobile app.

Your Mission

As a Frontend Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for translating, integrating, and validating the French (France) version of the Challenz mobile app, ensuring perfect language quality, zero broken UI, and full respect of product logic.

This is not a pure translation role. It is a frontend localization role with
long-term growth potential
.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate app UI strings from English to French (France – fr-FR) using JSON-based localization files
  • Integrate translations into a React Native / Expo codebase
  • Work with i18n libraries (e.g. i18next, expo-localization)
  • Ensure all variables, placeholders, and dynamic values remain intact
  • Fix UI issues caused by longer French text (overflows, truncation, spacing)
  • Enforce a locked product glossary (UWC, Boucle, Étape, etc.)
  • QA the app in French on real devices and simulators
  • Collaborate with the product owner to validate business-critical wording (loops, discounts, rewards)

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with React Native
  • Experience using Expo
  • Basic to solid understanding of internationalization (i18n) in mobile apps
  • Native or C1+ fluency in French (France)
  • Strong written French with a professional, product-grade tone
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn product logic

Nice to Have

  • Prior localization or translation experience in apps
  • Familiarity with fintech, rewards systems, or loyalty platforms
  • Understanding of mobile UI/UX constraints
  • Experience shipping or testing mobile apps

What This Internship Is NOT

  • Not a pure translator role
  • Not a backend position
  • Not a copywriting or marketing role

Internship Structure & Growth Path

  • Initial mission: French (France) localization of the Challenz app
  • Internship duration: short-term, mission-based (initially 2–3 days of focused work)
  • After successful delivery, the intern may continue working with the team on frontend tasks, UI improvements, and future localizations
  • High-performing interns may transition into a
    paid part-time or full-time frontend position
