Job Description:
- Location: Fully remote, Central Europe Time Zone
- Start date: To be defined
- Languages: English is mandatory
The candidate is expected to have an intermediate level of proficiency in OpenStack technology, with at least three years of relevant experience and significant exposure to OpenStack cloud infrastructure implementation, as well as participation in back-end administration and support.
The consultant will work under the supervision of the OpenStack Core Infrastructure Engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for implementing OpenStack cloud and related technologies i.e. MAAS, CEPH, and Kubernetes.
- Support system updates and maintenance tasks. Including updating core cloud infrastructure components, applying patches, and performing system checks.
- Automate routine tasks with scripting languages and OpenStack components. Use orchestration tools to manage, provision, and automate deployments.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Infrastructure teams to ensure our infrastructure solutions enable and meet their needs.
- Develop and execute automated testing according to technical specifications to benchmark performance.
- Update and maintain documentation for the OpenStack software stack related to its deployment, and technical configurations, including technical diagrams.
- Stand-by services during weekends, official holidays, and outside business hours as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in supporting OpenStack architecture, deployment and administration, with a strong focus on managing large-scale deployments.
- Experience with automation tools for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management including Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.
- Strong knowledge of General-Purpose Programming Languages like Python or Bash.
- Hands-on experience in continuous integration and continuous delivery /continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Experience with bare-metal provisioning, particularly with tools like RH Satellite, Ironic or MAAS.
