Senior Data Scientist

Super Dispatch is seeking a talented Senior Data Scientist to support the Product, Engineering, and Marketplace Operations teams by building reliable prediction solutions that can help Super Dispatch customers move cars faster. In this role, you will analyze and understand customer data, collaborate with other teams and departments, and improve existing recommendation and prediction engines.

What You'll Do

• ML/AI Development & Engineering:
• Design and build new ML/DL/AI models, algorithms, and pipelines to meet business requirements
• Support and improve existing ML algorithms and pipelines to deliver reliable and scalable solutions
• Write production-quality Python code with comprehensive tests
• Build and evolve transformative, real-time marketplace pricing engines based on machine learning that reflect dynamic market conditions
• Improve existing recommendation and prediction engines by collaborating with key stakeholders (internal and external)
• Analysis & Insights:
• Conduct use case analysis and automate analytical workflows
• Formulate hypotheses and run analyses to verify them
• Design and build dashboards in Metabase to enable data-driven decision making
• Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work:
• Collaborate with Marketplace Operations and Data Teams to identify and resolve issues using data science and machine learning methodologies
• Collaborate with other departments and teams to improve data collection, processing, error handling, and data normalization
• Provide thought leadership on data science to Product and Engineering Teams with best practices
• Project Management & Problem Solving:
• Estimate roadmap items and support delivery of company roadmap commitments
• Troubleshoot and fix issues identified in production systems
• Business Acumen:
• Develop a deep understanding of the overall business of Super Dispatch and the Auto Transport industry

Candidate Experience:

• 5+ years experience in developing and evolving complex high volume data models
• 3+ years experience with data management platforms including SQL (SSAS), Tableau and Jupyter Notebook and applied experience in data transformation and visualization (Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, Seaborn)
• Experience with strong Statistics and Mathematics knowledge
• Experience with Machine Learning techniques (Linear Models, Decision Trees, artificial neural networks) and their real-world advantages/disadvantages
• Knowledge of / experience with Python

• Graduate from Super Dispatch's company-wide new employee onboarding program. You'll get caught up with who we are, how we work, and what we're building.
• Understand the full functionality of Super Dispatch products, as well as the greater auto transportation industry and competitive landscape.
• Learn and understand the current Pricing Engine
• Explore the Product data, gain industry and business knowledge
• Align with the team on the vision and plan of improving the engine
• Start improving the engine accuracy based on the plan

Within 3 months, you'll…

• Know all our ML algorithms and features
• Have an end-to-end process for implementing improvements
• Contribute to the plan with your new knowledge

Within 6 months, you'll…

• Make data analyses
• Support existing ML algorithms and pipelines with guidance
• Work on ML projects with guidance
• Help stakeholders with identifying the next steps that can be impactful for the engine
• Own the engine and its performance

Within 12 months, you'll…

• Lead ML projects
• Run A/B tests
• Design and build ML algorithms and pipelines
• Proactively identify bottlenecks, problems, and areas for improvements and own the execution of these changes
• Provide your knowledge and experience to other departments and teams on building solutions that involve Data Science
