Role Overview

As
People Operations Specialist
, you play a key role in building a high-performing, people-first fintech organisation. You own the operational foundations that allow teams to move fast while staying compliant, supported, and engaged. Working in a dynamic, international startup environment, you balance structure with flexibility and execution with empathy.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building, scaling, and improving people operations in a product- and growth-driven tech company.

Responsibilities
People Operations & HR Foundations

  • Own the full employee lifecycle in France, from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring clarity, consistency, and a strong employee experience.
  • Act as a trusted People partner for employees and managers, providing practical, solution-oriented support.
  • Manage employment contracts, amendments, absences, and employee documentation in compliance with French labor law.
  • Maintain and scale People Operations processes and HR tools, ensuring they remain efficient as the company grows.

Payroll & Benefits (France & International)

  • Lead monthly French payroll operations in collaboration with external providers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate international payroll for globally distributed teams, working closely with Finance and external vendors.
  • Oversee benefits administration and support employees on payroll- and benefits-related topics with transparency and reliability.
  • Contribute to building payroll processes that scale with international expansion.

Workplace & Hybrid Experience

  • Own workplace operations and office management, creating an environment that supports collaboration, focus, and flexibility.
  • Manage office vendors, equipment, and day-to-day logistics for hybrid and on-site teams.
  • Continuously improve the workplace experience with a strong focus on employee wellbeing and efficiency.

Culture, Engagement & Internal Events

  • Support and execute employee engagement and culture initiatives aligned with company values.
  • Plan and deliver internal events such as onboarding sessions, team offsites, and company-wide meetings, with attention to detail and impact.
  • Help foster connection and alignment across teams in a fast-moving, scaling environment.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment, including posting, interviewing, and onboarding new hires.
  • Ensure a seamless candidate experience that reflects the company's culture and values.

Cross-Functional & Startup Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Finance, Legal, IT, and Leadership to align people operations with business needs.
  • Bring a builder mindset, improving processes, documentation, and ways of working as the company evolves.
  • Support international teams while balancing local compliance with global consistency.

Requirements

  • 2–4+ years of experience in People Operations, HR, or People Programs, ideally in tech or fintech startups.
  • Strong knowledge of French labor law, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
  • Experience managing French (syntec) and international payroll or multi-country employee administration.
  • Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment and building a strong talent pipeline.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Hands-on, execution-oriented, and comfortable working in ambiguity.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; people-first mindset.
  • Proficiency with HR tools (Lucca, Payfit) and standard productivity tools.
  • Passion for startup culture, collaboration, and building high-performing teams.
