We help MROs, airlines, OEMs, and lessors transform complex aircraft documentation into structured, actionable data, reducing maintenance burden, improving compliance, and minimizing aircraft downtime.

Rôle Description

We are looking for an
AI Research Engineer specialized in Document Intelligence & LLMs

to build the core models that interpret aircraft maintenance documentation, from scanned PDFs to complex technical manuals and regulatory texts.

You will work on transforming large volumes of unstructured aviation data into structured knowledge used by MROs, airlines, and OEMs.

You will also contribute to the design of a
domain-specific multimodal LLM

capable of understanding aviation maintenance, regulatory requirements, and safety-critical constraints.

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Paris, with flexible remote options.

About you

You are a curious, rigorous, and innovative researcher or engineer who enjoys solving complex real-world problems. You thrive at the intersection of research and practical impact.

You have:

  • Strong experience in NLP / Document AI, including extraction, classification, and document understanding.
  • Solid experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, fine-tuning, instruction tuning, or RAG pipelines.
  • Experience processing PDFs, scanned documents, OCR pipelines (e.g., Tesseract, AWS Textract, Vision API).
  • Ability to design and run experiments and prototypes quickly.
  • Strong foundations in machine learning, statistics, and optimization.
  • Ability to read and implement state-of-the-art research when needed.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with complex documentation (Aviation, Medical, Legal etc.)
  • Experience working with knowledge graphs or structured semantic representations.
  • Familiarity with model compression, on-device inference, or GPU optimization.
  • Experience with document layout models (LayoutLM, Donut, DocFormer, LiLT, etc.).
  • Experience with building retrieval pipelines (RAG) for domain-specific question-answering.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with domain experts (aerospace engineers, MRO specialists).
