An established international agrochemical manufacturer is looking to grow their presence in Europe. They are seeking the above to provide technical support and product training to distributors, retailers, and key growers, while initiating and managing strategic field trials and ensuring that technological developments and sales strategies within the EU align with the company's goals.

Minimum requirements for the role:
  • Must have a relevant B. Sc. or M.Sc. qualification
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in the agricultural industry with experience in a similar or related position
  • Practical experience with soil biology and bio-stimulant products will be advantageous
  • Strong technical knowledge is essential
  • Must be able to gauge the level of understanding of the client in respect of new technology
  • Good communication (verbal and written), planning, organizational, presentation, analytical, report writing, people and customer relationship skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and own reliable transport as well as be medically fit to drive
  • Must be computer literate in MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint and Outlook) as well as have knowledge of a statistical program
  • Needs to be fluent in French with good English capability

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Driving the EU sales strategy alongside key stakeholders, i.e., Commercial Managers, Technical Managers, Distributors, Retailers, Technical Advisors, and Agronomists.
  • Engaging with the Commercial team of the Distributor to drive regional business of the client and ensure execution of the agreed-upon sales strategy with the relevant client.
  • Regularly engaging with the technical sales team of the Distributor to ensure the flow of knowledge.
  • Driving product integration with Distributors regarding the farmer's application programs.
  • Monitoring product sales monthly to ensure that the budget is being achieved.
  • Engaging with the design and management of product presentations as well as other marketing material.
  • Interacting with Distribution clients, spending approximately 50 to 70% of time travelling to interact with clients.
  • Engaging with the company technical team to ensure the correct use of fertilizers, bio-stimulants, herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides in trials.
  • Managing the collection of data into summary reports in line with company standards as supporting documentation to the marketing material.
  • Providing inputs and interpretations while writing up trial reports and preparing PowerPoint presentations (generating marketing material).
  • Calculating the ROI of each trial to demonstrate the value of the product to the farmer.
  • Evaluating gaps in the product portfolio and monitoring crop data per relevant country.
  • Driving new innovative projects to support penetration into new markets.
  • Ensuring that Distributors and related parties are well-informed of the company product range by attending Growers Days, conducting product training sessions, and arranging Distributor visits to trial sites to effectively demonstrate the value of the products.
  • Regularly presenting feedback at Distributor and Grower meetings.
  • Providing input on new budget planning with the Key Account Manager Europe.
  • Conforming to relevant SHEQ rules and regulations as per company policy.
  • Ensuring adherence to high levels of safety standards.
  • Meeting occupational health requirements at the site as well as in areas of responsibility.
  • Being aware of and alert to the toxic, flammable, and hazardous nature of materials handled in relevant work areas.
  • Reporting Process Safety Incidents.
  • Ensuring accurate and honest reporting of incidents, near misses, and safety hazards.
  • Adhering to all internal control policies as directed by Management and complying with them.
  • Appreciating the importance of customer satisfaction and responding accordingly.
  • Undertaking any legal ad hoc tasks for which the incumbent is competent as directed by Management.
