Laundress (Live out) in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a professional laundress, wardrobe assistant, or similar role within a private household or hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of fabric care, including luxury materials (silk, cashmere, wool, linen, etc. ) and proper handling of designer garments.
  • Excellent ironing and pressing skills, with attention to fine details and presentation.
  • Understanding of garment maintenance, including stain removal, minor repairs, and delicate washing techniques.
  • Organisational skills for managing wardrobes, linens, and laundry schedules efficiently.
  • Eligibility to work in the EU and availability for full-time, live-out employment.

Duties

  • Taking full responsibility for household laundry and ironing of clothes and linens
  • Possessing solid knowledge of various textiles and their specific care requirements
  • Performing minor repairs such as mending tears, replacing buttons, fixing hems, and removing stains
  • Using eco-friendly and non-toxic cleaning products and detergents
  • Organising all household laundry, hanging and folding items neatly in designated closets
  • Managing drop-off and collection of garments from the dry cleaner
  • Maintaining an inventory of seasonal wardrobes and preparing them for proper storage
  • Supplying bed linen for live-in staff and ensuring guest bedrooms are always fresh and ready for use
  • Handling seasonal wardrobe organisation

Additional Responsibilities May Include

  • Cataloguing designer and couture clothing and accessories
  • Conducting a "home detox" by identifying and replacing harmful cleaning products with sustainable alternatives
  • Packing and unpacking for the principals and their family before and after travel
  • Liaising with vendors and contractors when necessary
  • Providing occasional pet care and cleaning of car carpets and upholstery

Schedule: Regular work, Full-time working day, 40 hours per week // 177 hours per month Days off: Two consecutive days weekly
