Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated
Community Psychiatric Nurse
to work within the Community Mental Health Teams for Elderly (CMHTE), based in
Ballot Road Clinic
, Irvine in North Ayrshire. This post is offered on a
fixed-term or secondment
basis until
31st August 2026.
What You Will Do
You will work with older adults who have a range of mental health issues. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in close partnership with colleagues in primary care, community, social work and third sector. The post holder will also assist in the delivery of post diagnostic support to patients newly diagnosed with dementia. Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a well-developed knowledge of care of older people with mental health problems and appropriate interventions coupled with organisational skills and ability to work as part of a Team are essential for this post. In return you can expect to receive clinical supervision and excellent continuous professional development opportunities to further your nursing career. You will be educated to degree level or have a relevant postgraduate qualification and experience relevant to job purpose.

As a registered Mental Health Nurse, on Part 3 of the NMC Register, you will be an integral member of the team providing assessment, care, support and interventions to patients and carers living in North Ayrshire.
