At UNIVITY we believe that everyone on Earth should have access to internet connectivity and we are on a mission to empower telecom operators to deliver high-performance, affordable, sustainable internet from space to their clients where terrestrial networks are not available.
We successfully launched our first mission in 2025. We are now on our way for our next major milestone: an in-orbit demonstration in 2027, where two complete satellites will be deployed to further validate the system end-to-end. As Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development of different software modules to support the different functions of our satellite communications system.

As Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development of different software modules to support the different functions of our satellite communications system.
Your Key Responsibilities And Tasks
- Product Ownership
Break down complex projects into tasks and deliverables.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, QA, DevOps).
Ensure the successful end-to-end delivery of features or projects.
- Management of the development phases, covering
Redaction of software specification.
Definition of software architecture,
Redaction of software integration, verification and validation plan, including performance analysis.
- High-Quality Software Development
Deliver clean, reliable, well-tested code.
Lead code reviews and ensure engineering best practices.
Optimize existing codebases and reduce technical debt.
- Mentorship and Team Development
Coach junior and mid-level engineers.
Provide constructive feedback on code, design, and career growth.
Help new team members onboard.
- Problem Solving & Debugging
Solve complex, multi-layered technical problems.
Debug production issues and improve observability.
Identify and prevent future failures through root-cause analysis.
- Influence Engineering Culture
Promote good engineering practices (testing, CI/CD, documentation).
Help define coding standards, style guides, design patterns.
Drive improvements in tooling, infrastructure, and workflows.
- Cross-Team Communication
Collaborate with product managers to refine requirements.
Present technical proposals or design documents.
Communicate tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic Thinking
Anticipate risks and design for long-term maintainability.
Identify opportunities for automation or optimization.
Contribute to technology roadmap and long-term architecture vision.
Requirements
Skills and experience
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years' experience with Software ideally in embedded electronics development.
- Software Testing & Debugging – Expertise in various testing methodologies (unit, system, integration, acceptance testing).
- Programming Languages – Proficiency in C, C++, Python, or similar languages.
- Automation & Scripting – Experience with testing automation tools
- System Integration – Understanding of software architecture and integration techniques.
- Verification & Validation – Knowledge of IVV processes to ensure software meets requirements.
- A good understanding of 5G and telecom in general would be appreciated.
- Good written and oral communication skills in French and English with an ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
