Infrastructure & System OperationsMaintain system and network infrastructure in operational condition.Update and monitor both internal and external systems.Manageaccess requestsand maintain proper control over user permissions.Map and document the Information System, contributing to a cultural shift from"it works"to"it works and it's documented."Install and administerexternal compute resources(e.g. OVH bare metal) in a controlled and reliable manner (usingSLURM).Conduct security assessment and propose or discuss remediation plans.Contribute ideas for new installations, deployments, and automation.Simplify and document procedures to improve efficiency and reliability. Support & Internal OperationsManage internal tickets (via GitLab) : triage, prioritization, follow-up, and metrics.Providebasic user support for workstations(Linux, Windows, and macOS).Manage user access (provisioning, revocation, monitoring, incident alerts).Participate inonboarding and offboarding(hardware setup, account creation, SI overview).Manage software licenses and hardware inventory.Promote best practices and enhance information security culture.Collaborate withSarah, our Office Manager, ontechnical vendor relationships(cloud and infrastructure providers). R&D and OperationsWhile this position isprimarily focused on managing infrastructure and servers (≈90%), the engineer will alsocontribute around 10% of their time to R&D efforts.This includes supporting thedefinition of operational proceduresfor successive versions of our DNA-based data storage system.The role isanchored in production infrastructure, but thanks to his/her experience, the person willcollaborate closely with the Software team—using their operational expertise to help design and validate our next-generation DNA storage device.In short: afull-time infrastructure engineer,structuring and maintaining the system, yetdeeply aligned with R&D DNA.About You Technical Skills (Required)Linux(multi-distribution, strong experience with Debian and Ubuntu)Bash scripting, system automation, and administrationNetworking: ARP, IP, TCP, SSH, Wi-FiVirtualization: Proxmox or equivalentStorage systems: CEPH, S3, RAID, LVM, partitioning, etc.Security: Firewalls (Linux & appliance), VPNBoot/BIOS/EFI, Dell rack servers (iDRAC)Pythonand general scripting experienceAbility to supportcross-platformenvironments (Linux, Windows and macOS) Nice to HaveExperience withMDM/IAM(Okta or equivalent)Knowledge ofDocker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms(AWS, GCP, or Azure)Familiarity withGoogle Workspace administration ExperienceAt least 5+ yearsof professional experience in system administration, infrastructure, or DevOps.
