As a science company, various knowledge and expertise enable IFF to support a large and significant product portfolio as well as services & solutions for customers.The role sits within our Health and Biosciences Business Unit, and you'll play a key role in advancing industrial biotechnology through technical leadership and strategic execution.As a Senior Process Engineer in Manufacturing Technology, you'll be based at our cutting-edge facility in Dangé-Saint-Romain, home to a multidisciplinary team including R&D, Process R&D, Engineering/Manufacturing Technology, Application, and Commercial experts, alongside production.Based on your experience and development within this senior role, you will also become responsible to manage a team of engineers across multiple sites in France.Where You'll Make a DifferenceLead or participate in diverse projects including capital investments, production/process improvements, inter-site and digital initiatives, while mentoring and training engineers.As a technology team lead, translate stakeholder needs (business, operations, process, safety) into clear and actionable project scopes.Provide robust process, equipment, and automation solutions, including proactive troubleshooting and root cause analysis to support operations.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost capacity, enhance product quality, improve safety, and reduce operational costs.Deliver basic data and execute RTO start-up operations such as FAT/SAT and qualification phases (QI/QO/QP).Manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring effective communication with internal stakeholders, business leaders, and global Manufacturing Technology teams.Support Process Safety Management (PSM) tasks including HIRA, MOCs, and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR).Contribute to long-term sites master planning and global strategies as part of the Health and Biosciences Manufacturing Technology community.Translate global goals into site-level initiatives and, over time, lead a team of engineers across multiple sites in France.What Makes You the Right FitMaster's or Engineering degree in Biotechnological Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Biochemical Engineering.Minimum 5 years of experience in process design and execution of capital or continuous improvement projects within an industrial process environment.Proven leadership or project management experience in a manufacturing setting.Strong technical expertise in industrial biotechnology processes, including fermentation, downstream processing, and formulation (liquid and solid).In-depth knowledge of unit operations such as fermentation (media prep, process parameters), separation (centrifugation, membrane filtration), and stabilization (cryo freezing, lyophilization).Solid understanding of equipment and integration-pumps, heat exchangers, valves, instrumentation, piping-and their role in production units.Knowledge of process control and automation in batch process environments.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence in engaging senior leadership and cross-functional teams.Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, including budgeting, project justification, and ability to inspire and motivate teams.How Would You Stand Out?Strong organization in technical project management and execution.Demonstrate leadership within process/technical teams.Good interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team and succeed in an international, multicultural and multidisciplinary work environment.Why Choose Us?Work in a state-of-the-art facility with cutting-edge technologies.Make a real impact on sustainable food innovation.Join a team that values individuality and fosters collaboration.Opportunities for career development and global mobility.Enjoy competitive compensation and benefits designed to support your well-being.We are a global leader in taste, scent, and nutrition, offering our customers a broader range of natural solutions and accelerating our growth strategy.
