Edison Smart are looking for a VP of Engineering to join a leadership team building a fast-growing, cross-platform AI assistant used by both consumers and enterprise clients.This organisation is focused on delivering high-performance, enterprise-ready AI products that integrate seamlessly into everyday work. Their platform supports both on-premise and cloud deployments and is built with scalability, reliability, and user experience at its core.You'll join a collaborative, low-ego, high-impact engineering culture operating across multiple international locations, with a strong focus on innovation and execution.Role SummaryAs VP of Engineering, you will own the engineering roadmap for a cross-platform AI product area of 30+ engineers. You'll be responsible for scaling a high-quality product that serves both direct-to-consumer and enterprise use cases, while solving complex technical challenges in AI and machine learning.You will play a key role in the leadership team, shaping technical strategy and accelerating product adoption.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Vision & StrategyDefine and drive the technical vision and engineering roadmap in collaboration with founders and product leadersEnsure alignment with business goals and market needs across consumer and enterprise segmentsStakeholder CollaborationPartner closely with product management to define, prioritise, and deliver new featuresAdapt priorities and roadmap based on user feedback and dataDelivery & ExecutionEnsure consistent, high-quality delivery across teamsBalance speed of iteration with long-term platform stability and scalabilityTechnical LeadershipAct as the senior technical authority, guiding teams through complex technical decisionsStay current with advancements in AI, ML, and conversational technologiesScale & StructureBuild engineering foundations that support rapid growthEstablish best practices for scalable, efficient product development across D2C and B2BPerformance & MetricsDefine and track KPIs to measure product and platform performanceUse data-driven insights to continuously optimise systems and processesAbout You10+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in senior leadership rolesStrong experience building and scaling large-scale systemsProven success delivering products for both consumer and enterprise marketsBackground in AI, ML, LLMs, or conversational AI is highly desirableProduct-focused with strong commercial and business awarenessExperienced in scaling, structuring, and leading high-performing teamsPragmatic, outcome-driven, and able to balance short-term delivery with long-term visionStrong problem-solving skillsFluent in English
