Position Summary

:

Crane ChemPharma & Energy Flow Solutions is a division within the Fluid Handling Business Segment of Crane Co, a US multi-national company which specializes in highly engineered products in niche markets. Crane ChemPharma & Energy Flow Solutions designs, manufactures, markets and distributes a range of process valves and actuators under multiple brand names for a wide range of applications in a number of industries including the refinery, chemical, biopharmaceutical, and energy industries.

The role is the primary liaison between customers and the company for normal day-to-day sales activity principally having to deal with orders, expedites, order modifications, order confirmations, export documentation and Returned Goods Authorizations. This Inside Sales position develops price and lead-time and provides quotations on standard products, receives and processes sales orders and takes necessary actions to develop appropriate responses, and communicates replies and ensures that sales transactions are formatted to provide a high degree of success in meeting customer needs and company goals and objectives.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Follows established company and departmental policies and procedures within the Inside Sales group. Responsible for the production of accurate and complete quotations through computer entry, specification evaluation, delivery, costing pricing, computer completion, generation of formal quotation and distribution. Processes customer orders in a timely and accurate manner including clarification and order entry. Reviews and validates quoted delivery prior to order entry in conjunction with buyers and planners, and prepares written response to customer if delivery situation has changed. Implements all change orders, order cancellations and maintains existing sales orders and acknowledges processing of order changes to customer. Investigates customer requests for returned goods and verifies consistency with established policy. Processes the Returned Goods Authorization for departmental approval. In conjunction with the Import/Export Compliance Manager, ensures compliance with Canada & the United States Government Export Laws for the operations. Works in conjunction with export shipping coordinator, shipping manager and freight forwarders to ensure that all requirements are fulfilled in order that the goods will make it to their final destination and that there will be no delays in receiving payment, etc. Coordinate the preparation of export documents for export shipments. Represents the Company as appropriate in its relations with customers and suppliers. Reviews customer credit adjustments and returned goods authorization in a timely manner in conjunction with established policies and procedures. Initiates and coordinates customer purchase terms and conditions, technical and commercial review with appropriate internal departments as necessary for the preparation of quotations so as not to put the company in jeopardy. Coordinates and aids in determining price levels and strategies to be used on quotations and contracts in coordination with marketing, the regional manager and sales force. Provides order status information to customers including: Advising customers of reschedules or delays affecting promised ship dates.Investigating alternate sources for materials and solutions to meet customer's expectations.Provides project progress reports as required. Coordinates all aspects of customer service for customers including delivery checks, technical inquiries, expediting, order maintenance, documentation. Assists Accounting and other stakeholders in researching and resolving customer account discrepancies within international team responsibility. Participates actively in the Crane Business System processes including Kaizen team involvement, problem solving, and recommending solutions to enhance and improve the quality of departmental and/or company-wide business activities. Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE :

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business in Sales or related field. Technical School degree/diploma may be considered. Export experience is a plus. Highly skilled in verbal and written communication Outstanding organizational skills Strong work ethic Ability to prioritize tasks while being flexible to the dynamic needs and changes of management and customers Highly proficient computer skills including e-mail (MS Outlook), MS Word, Excel Bilingual language skills are a plus.
