Candidate Profile

  • 15 years of professional experience in commercial functions in the energy industry such as natural gas pipeline or Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) or in energy distribution industries ("utilities").
  • Experience relevant to the position includes: proven track record in international negotiations of commodity contracts, economic and financial modeling, joint venture management, energy markets analysis and regulation. Experience in natural gas pipeline value chain development will be a plus.
  • Fluency in English and in particular business English ("English law")
  • Mastery of economic calculations
  • Autonomous, creative, rigorous, reliable, with excellent interpersonal skills and a team spirit in an entrepreneurial and dynamic environment
  • A particular interest in the challenges of energy transition. Experience in renewable energies will be a plus
  • Business school or engineering school education

Activities

The proposed position is within the Marketing team of TE H2 in Paris, which has overall responsibility for the Marketing activity of all TE H2 projects worldwide. These projects are currently located in South America, North Africa, Europe and Australia, and are dedicated to the production of green hydrogen, a sector which is currently experiencing considerable interest, and which is expected to play a major role in the energy transition. Our Marketing team is actively negotiating with green hydrogen offtakers mainly in Europe and Asia. These discussions will intensify significantly in the coming months with the structuring phase of the offtake contracts as TE H2's green H2 projects are maturing and TE H2's Marketing team must be reinforced.

In this nascent energy segment and a very dynamic context, you will be in charge of leading the commercial aspects for the marketing of one or more of our green H2 project. You will also participate to the origination of new long-term clients in different industrial segments and geographies. You will report to the Marketing Director.

Your main activities will be:
  • For one or more of TE H2 projects, responsible for the whole commercial negotiations with green H2 offtakers in Europe and potentially in Asia, usually in coordination with the project partners. Your specific commercial activities will encompass: the definition and implementation of the project marketing strategy; the management and direct engagement with the project commercial stakeholders (partners, offtakers, infrastructure developers/operators, etc.); the contractual negotiations and drafting supervision for agreements covering offtake (HOAs, SPAs) transportation (shipping TCPs, gas transportation agreement etc.) and potentially terminaling (TUAs) in order to build a bankable green H2 value chain for the project. You will appropriately coordinate with all the required support functions to the success of the commercial negotiations (legal, technical, financial, markets, regulatory, advocacy, subsidy teams etc.)
  • Originations of new long-term offtakers that bring a good fit to TE H2's variety of green H2 projects, mainly in terms of products end-use (H2 derivatives), timeline of delivery and localizations. Coordination of the necessary internal and external teams (ex: TotalEnergies' various expert teams, consultants, market referents etc.)
  • Preparation of marketing materials and ad-hoc presentations for origination, negotiations, project financing and internal validations; as well as necessary documentation and management of the response to clean H2 tenders issued by potential offtakers in various regions
  • Sharing internally with the CODIR and business developers of TE H2 the knowledge you have acquired of customers, industrial sectors and H2/derivatives market.
  • While understanding the clean H2 market fundamentals (economics, trends, regulations etc.) and TE H2's particular positioning, you will participate as speaker in forums, conferences and hydrogen associations to which TE H2 belongs, in particular H2Global in Germany.
