Senior Consultant Energy Markets Analytics

DNV’s Market & Transaction team is looking for a Senior Consultant specialized in power price forecasting for the French and European markets. DNV is undergoing a strong expansion in power price forecasting throughout Europe and is looking to reinforce its current team with headquarters in Madrid. The candidate will be integrated with a young and high-powered team that has a clear mandate to grow in terms of market coverage and scope of work. The position will be based in Paris, France.
DNV’s power price forecasting activity is structured around a set of internal processes and tools that combine a fundamental approach (dispatch models) with statistical and artificial intelligence methods that aim to understand and replicate the market agents’ interaction with the different power and ancillary services markets.
The responsibilities of the Senior Consultant will cover:
Lead French Electricity Day-ahead Market Analysis and Advisory: Lead Market Intelligence and current energy market trends studies (expansion plan, commodities), including scenario analysis (climate, electrical vehicle, distributed and self-consumption), regulatory changes, and technological advancements. Collaborate with the modeling team to structure energy problems and commercial due diligence into quantifiable analyses. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions that address clients' strategic and operational needs. Client Engagement and Relationship Management with the financial sector (banks, investors, financial institutions) and the energy sector (developers, owners, operators): Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their business objectives, challenges, and opportunities within the energy sector. Lead client engagements, cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business opportunities. Advise on the implementation of energy projects leveraging on Power Price Forecasting and EMA digital products, including renewable energy integration and any other flexible asset like battery energy storage systems.A career in DNV is not just a job. Degree in Energy/electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline like Business and/or Finance as long as candidates has a demonstrated experience in Electricity Markets. Strong experience (+5 years) in Electricity Market analysis as well as regulatory frameworks. Proven track record of leading client engagements, managing projects, and delivering high-quality results within budget and timeline constraints. Software knowledge in energy system modeling languages like Plexos and in programming languages like Python and SQL. Proactive and forthcoming attitude. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Fluency in French and English (both verbal and written).-
