Are you prepared to join the nuclear industry? We're seeking individuals like you. You'll have the chance to work across 8 EDF sites: Dungeness B, Sizewell, Hinkley Point B, Heysham 1, Heysham 2, Hartlepool, Torness, and Hunterston. Flexibility is essential as you'll need to travel across sites to meet operational demands. However, we offer a permanent contract allowing you to transition seamlessly between outages. CTC clearance is necessary, but Altrad will facilitate this process for you.

Role and Responsibilities:
Ascertain job requirements from drawings or other specifications.
Select length of stainless steel and carbon steel piping and to cut it to the required size with hacksaw, pipe cutter or machine.
Prepare and position pipework and flanges for subsequent welding, alignment orientation, gaps, spacing, straightness whilst welding and arc welding.
Bend small bore piping using pipe bending machine
Join metal piping by thread cutting and screwing.
Check pipe preparations, tack welded joints, alignment, straightness and dimensional accuracy.
Install prefabricated sections on site.
Trained and operate trade required machinery.
Carryout Firewatch/Stand By duties.
Adhere to all safety requirements including safety checks of tools and equipment.
Use Oxy/fuel hand burning/heating/cutting equipment.
Use all relevant workshops/site equipment associated with job requirements including all relevant training/certification requirements


What we are looking for:
Approved Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3

Previous experience in similar environment
