Job Descriptions
Transportation Mechanic
Assist transportation in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing the district transportation fleet. To include: Vehicle cleaning and fueling, oil changes for fleet equipment, assisting mechanics with major repairs, preparing all fleet vehicles for annual inspection, etc.
Bus Driver
To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district’s curriculum and extracurricular program.
*Half of this position is Transportation Mechanic and the other half is Bus Driver.
Previous bus driving experience helpful, but not required.Paid training and assistance obtaining Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with S&P Endorsement provided.Salary: $16.00-$22.25/hour (wage determined by years of relevant experience)
Term of Employment: 8 hours/day, 12 months/year
Qualifications
Transportation Mechanic
Bus Driver
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license issued by the State of Kansas, and ability to obtain a Class B CDL with S and P endorsements.Maintain qualifications as a school bus driver.Ability to pass a bus driver physical examination.Ability to pass a Medic First Aid Course.Ability to pass a Defensive Driving Course.
