The position


The Residential Life Manager will guide and support the Head of Hostel and the Dorm Parents and ensure a high-quality residential life program is imparted to the students. Will write documents that describe the processes and roles and responsibilities of the respective hostel staff.

Provide guidance to the team in all facets of hostel life, including the implementation of safeguarding measures and the execution of operational tasks, in accordance with the AKES Residential Curriculum and Residential Standards. Assist the team in effectively managing the Residential Curriculum and overseeing all other boarding services. Establish a comprehensive hostel development plan to facilitate ongoing enhancements in all aspects of hostel life and address areas that require improvement. Conduct training sessions for the Head of Hostel and Dorm Parents, focusing on pastoral care and strategies for working with adolescents. Develop documentation outlining processes and roles to ensure the seamless and efficient operation of the hostel. Establish and document a robust Residential Life Program for the hostel.

The requirements

Qualification:
Qualifications in social work, education, child development or similar areas (Master’s Degree or equivalent will be preferred).

Experience:
Substantive knowledge and relevant experience of successfully managing a hostel, leading teams, providing
vision, inspiring motivation, generating enthusiasm and empowering a culture of service delivery which
meets AKESI standards for performance.

Preferred Personal Characteristics:
Reliable, committed, culturally sensitive, team player, adaptive.

Language:
English proficiency required.
