The position

Northern Pakistan Energy Limited (NPak Energy) , a subsidiary of IPS, operates on the basis of a 30-year Concession Agreement signed with the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). Responding to the GB government’s request, NPak Energy will develop the energy system to supply clean, reliable, and affordable electricity for all of Central & Lower Hunza as well as demonstrate the applicability and relevance of a regionally proven model for the operation of an integrated utility company in Pakistan. It builds on the successful PPP solutions implemented by AKFED in both Tajikistan and Afghanistan through NPak Energy’s sister companies, Pamir Energy and Badakhshon Energy. 

NPAK Energy is currently looking for an experienced Finance Officer, with strong leadership and team development skills, to report Finance Manager. To support the finance department by handling various accounting and financial tasks, ensuring compliance with policies, and facilitating accurate financial reporting and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities:

Voucher Preparation and Data Entry:

Prepare vouchers and enter data into the accounting software (MS Dynamics 365). Payment Request Review: Review payment requests to ensure they comply with NPAK and Donor policies. Cash and Bank Reconciliation: Perform reconciliation of cash and bank accounts. Budget Preparation Assistance: Assist the Manager of Finance in the preparation of project budgets. Financial Reporting to Donors: Assist the Manager of Finance in preparing financial reports for donors. Monthly Financial Reports: Prepare monthly financial reports for management review. Payment Documentation: Ensure accuracy and completeness of payment documentation. Audit Facilitation: Facilitate internal and external audits. Budget vs. Actuals Preparation: Assist the Manager Finance in the quarterly preparation of budget vs. actuals. Inventory/Equipment Coordination: Coordinate with the central administration department to ensure accuracy and completeness of inventory/equipment listings in accordance with NPAK and donor requirements. Event Arrangement: Arrange project events such as conferences and workshops in coordination with project staff. Additional Tasks: Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor and management. Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of all work-related information.

The requirements

Minimum of 3 years of professional experience. Minimum of university degree in accounting and finance. Proficiency in MS Dynamics 365 and other accounting software. Strong understanding of financial policies and procedures. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
