Job Overview
In this role, you will develop new, innovative solutions to problems plaguing the seismic imaging field . You will use knowledge of signal processing, wave propagation, and numerical optimization to develop and test high-end algorithms, sequences, or programs with predefined geophysical or engineering content.
You will participate in the validation of your contributions with senior Research staff and Production staff by analyzing and evaluating processing and imaging results on synthetic and field data. You may work independently or as part of team, but always in close collaboration with Imaging Geophysicist, remaining in-tune with production demands and industry trends.
You will also work closely with Software Engineers on the development, deployment, and improvement of high-performance computing applications on GPU and CPU architectures based on new imaging techniques and technological advances. You may be asked to present your work and results to colleagues and clients, as well as externally at conferences and workshops, and to prepare technical articles for industry proceedings and journals.

Aperçu du poste
Dans ce rôle, vous développerez des solutions innovantes répondant aux défis de l’imagerie sismique . Vous utiliserez vos connaissances en traitement du signal, en propagation des ondes et en optimisation numérique pour développer et tester des algorithmes, ou des séquences hauts de gamme en géophysique ou ingénierie.
Vous participerez à la validation de vos contributions en collaboration avec vos collègues de R&D et avec les équipes de production. Dans ce cadre vous analyserez et validerez les résultats obtenus sur des données synthétiques et de terrain. Vous travaillerez seul ou en équipe, mais toujours en étroite collaboration avec les géophysiciens de production, en restant au fait de leurs besoins et des tendances de l’industrie.
Vous travaillerez également sur ces outils et séquences en étroite collaboration avec des ingénieurs logiciels sur le développement, le déploiement et l’amélioration d’applications de calcul haute performance sur des architectures GPU et CPU. Enfin vous serez amenés à présenter vos travaux et vos résultats à des collègues et à des clients, ainsi qu’à l’externe lors de conférences et workshops, et à préparer des articles techniques dans les revues scientifiques.
Qualifications
Required Qualification & Experience
Ph.D. in Geophysics, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical discipline, Capable of abstracting geophysical concepts with mathematical languages, Excellent coding skills with FORTRAN and/or C/C++, Knowledge of high-performance computing is preferred (MPI, multi-threading, GPU, etc.), Knowledge of geophysics and seismic imaging preferred, but not essential, Experience with cross-platform development preferred, but not essential.Qualification et expérience requises
Doctorant en Géophysique, Physique, mathématiques appliquées, ingénierie électrique ou tout autre disciple technique proche, Capacité à traduire les phénomènes et concepts géophysique en langage mathématique, Solide capacité de programmation en Fortran et/ou C/C++, Connaissances en calcul haute performance (MPI, multi-threading, GPU, etc.), Des connaissances en Géophysique et en imagerie sismique sont un plus sans être essentielles.
