Context:

The Indirect Procurement function at CHANEL aims to achieve two main objectives:

- Maximize value for money while maintaining quality and brand image

- Manage supplier risk in all key areas (ESG, finance, legal, compliance).

Europe Store Planning department is in charge of Boutique Construction, Renovation and Maintenance with an ambitious roadmap of projects for the coming years.

This position is created to support Europe Store Planning department to improve its operational efficiency, to structure its supplier panel and manage the compliance our partners.

In the position of INDIRECT PROCUREMENT MANAGER – EUROPE STORE PLANNING, you will be at the heart of the procurement activities of Chanel Europe working on all Divisions (Fashion, Fragrances & Beauty, Watches & fine Jewelry) and focus on Boutique Construction, Renovation and Maintenance (General Contractors, Consultant fees, Fit-out, Fixtures – Furniture – Equipment, Infrastructure).

You will be reporting to the Europe Fashion CFO and to the Europe Head of Indirect Procurement.

You will provide essential support in the evolvement of the Procurement function and its tools, sharing best procurement practices and work directly with internal stakeholders to understand their business expectations and requirements and how they can be met.

This role will be supporting Europe Store Planning team on the management of the procurement process, from strategic sourcing, professional negotiation, contract management, vendor performance, risk assessment, and overall supplier panel management. You will be expected to provide reporting on the financial performance of projects, the supplier knowledge and risk assessment.

You will be immersed in the Store Planning team to fully understand their needs and challenges.

Define a common procurement process

Infuse procurement education and good practices

Structure supplier panel based on objective criteria such as supplier capacity, performance, costs…

Support new suppliers sourcing

Monitor Risk Management (Legal, Finance, Compliance) and Sustainable Procurement

Support Contract Management

Sourcing projects and RFI (Request for Information) ensuring collaboration with internal business partners

Design procurement tools (quotation grids, evaluation grid, business review templates…)

Prepare and support tenders/RFP (Request for Proposals)

Conduct financial and spend analysis

Lead professional negotiations

Award supplier, implement legal agreements & report benefits

Build database to history units cost drivers

Define guidelines for budget construction based on historized benchmark

Identify spend optimization (TCO approach, economies of scale) & supplier panel diversification opportunities

Report your financial benefits to demonstrate function return on investment

Define and implement Preferred Supplier List with business partners and suppliers

Monitor Risk Management (Legal, Finance, Compliance) and Sustainable Procurement through different tools and initiatives

Contract Management and negotiations (SLAs, end-of-year rebates)

Monitor supplier performance

Bring innovation and ESG guidelines specific to Boutique Construction

Define clear financial guidelines to report performance

Create together with business partners and suppliers’ relevant catalogues and forms to make ordering easier to achieve our “No PO, no Pay” ambition

Ensure the application of financial guidelines regarding payment terms and support payment on time of our suppliers

Co-design with global Indirect Procurement the best supply strategy and organization for Finishing

  What you will bring to this role:

Broad academic background and at least 8 years’ experience in Procurement on General Construction, Furniture & Millwork, Civil works and Finishing.

Deep understanding of boutique construction operations

Familiarity with sustainability practices, especially in boutique construction, and a passion for driving environmentally responsible initiatives.

Strong commercial & contractual negotiation skills and expertise in buying and supplier sourcing processes and are recognized for your autonomous and analytical skills

You have a proven ability to establish effective working relationships with senior business partners as well as with external parties

Interpersonal and conflict management skills will be appreciated as much as your ability to challenge the status quo and bring new ideas to life

Ability to thrive in a multicultural, diverse, and evolving environment

Ability to lead several projects in parallel

Travelling within Europe is required to visit our boutiques under construction and our suppliers’ facilities

English: fluent is a must
