About this position
Trimble Paris 3D Scanning Group is looking for an experienced firmware engineer with strong experiences in embedded Linux to join our 3D Scanning Hardware team. This team consists of a small number of highly
talented Electrical, Optical, Mechanical, and Firmware Engineers, working in a startup mode with nimbleness and entrepreneurial acumen to deliver innovative systems. As one of the main drivers in embedding intelligences into 3D scanner systems, your interests in innovation will be fully satisfied in such a working environment.


What you will do

You will be responsible for creating and maintaining custom Linux Operating System for scanning purposes, and for developing drivers to manage various sensors.

In this position you will also develop scanning functionalities in C/C++.

You will work with engineers of other disciplines on innovative projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline with 3-5 years of industry experience; Or Master of Science in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline with 2 years of industry experience. This Industry experience must include working as an embedded system engineer and participating in market released product developments.

Familiarised with object-oriented programming (OOP) using C/C++ programming, Python

Familiarised with testing and continuous integration process

Additional Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience in the following areas:

Developing and maintaining a Linux backend application for an industrial purpose.

Designing solutions incorporating embedded soft cores.

Setting up an inter processor communication with high volume data

Preferred Qualifications:

Specialized in embedded Linux system and development environment like Yocto or equivalent

Experiences in Linux drivers like USB modules.

Experiences with ZYNQ will be a plus

Exposure to hardware development and tools like oscilloscopes, etc.

Hands on person and quick on learning new technologies

Team player and very good in oral/writing communication

Ability to write and run unit tests

Experience with Git

Knowledge in network configuration
