As part of the Translational Statistics team at Servier R&D, you will lead the statistical activities related to Biomarkers and Precision Medicine on several research and clinical development projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be closely involved in developing Biomarker objectives for our therapeutic projects, influencing Translational Medicine efforts and the development of companion diagnostics. You will leverage biomarker data/evidence from different sources (e.g., pre-clinical data, clinical studies data, RWE, publications) and propose state-of-the-art methodologies, while ensuring operational efficiency, to support effective decision-making, optimize targeted patient population and accelerate drug development.

Responsibilities :

Contribute to the development and optimization of biomarker strategy of projects in collaboration with project team members. Provide input on study designs, ensuring adequation with the biomarker objectives in the study (sample size, power…). Elaborate biomarker statistical analysis strategy, when appropriate with innovative methods, that optimally address the research objectives on high and low throughput biomarkers. Perform or supervise the planned and exploratory statistical analyses of biomarkers. Discuss results with translational team and their interpretation in internal/external communication as well as regulatory documents. Represent statistical expertise in Biomarker subgroups, and in the governance of its projects, if necessary. Establish and maintain sound working relationships and effective communication within the project team and with the translational medicine teams. Stay up to date on and apply cutting-edge Biomarker/Omics data analysis. Identify and suggest ways to increase high quality information yield from biomarker data. Contribute to the internal and external visibility of the department and promote the development of internal scientific knowledge. Participate in the setting up of a centralized, harmonized and searchable Multi-Omics data cloud. Participate to collaborative R packages development on Omics data analysis created by the team.

Profile :

Doctoral degree or Master or equivalents in Biostatistics, Bioinformatics with a must have experience in genomics and statistics (at least 2 years). Extensive experience in Omics data analysis, especially RNAseq, NGS, Microarray …  Extensive experience in advanced statistical methods in particular for high-dimensional data (cross-validation, multiple testing correction, feature selection …)  Experience in Machine Learning algorithms: penalized regression, SVM, random forest neural network…  General knowledge of pharmaceutical clinical development (experience of using biomarker data in clinical decision-making process would be a plus)  Basic knowledge of biology (molecular biology and oncology would be a plus)  Experience in Companion Diagnostics / assay development would be a plus  Experience in Biological Network Analysis would be a plus  Fluent in R, including R Markdown, R Shiny, dplyR (Python would be a plus)  Fluent in English Capability to provide strategic inputs in broader contexts  Good collaboration and influencing skills in matrix working environments  Team player spirit and eager to collaborate with people from various backgrounds  Results-oriented  Ability to summarize and clearly convey statistical results to non-experts  Organization skills  Capability to work on several projects simultaneously
