Orakl Oncology is a techbio company, based in Paris and aiming to transform the fight against cancer. We combine best-in-class biology with data-powered and AI-driven analysis to enable companies to identify and optimise new anti-cancer therapies.

Orakl Oncology is a spin-off from the Gustave Roussy Institute, our offices are located in Paris and our lab in le Kremlin-Bicêtre, France. We’re looking for an exceptional lab technician to help us develop and run Orakl Oncology’s lab. This person would be a key player in the development of the company. In particular, the position will consist in participating in the lab development, expanding the Orakl biobank and maintaining the lab environment to maximise research efficiency of the Orakl scientists. This person will be instrumental in the design of the lab operation processes, from cell culture to quality control.

In particular they will:

  • anticipate the needs for consumables and reagents for the daily experiments scheduled in the lab.
  • carry out cell line and patient-derived cell culture and experiments (2D and 3D) following established SOPs.
  • conduct assay development and optimisation with senior lab members.
  • guarantee the traceability of lab activities and conduct initial analyses on the laboratory experiments.
  • participate in the laboratory maintenance.

The employee will be trained to be able to conduct experiments on our patient-derived models so that they will become autonomous on all our activities.

Requirements

Need-to-haves:

  • BSc/MSc (or equivalent degree such as BTS, DUT, Licence) in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, biotechnology or related disciplines.
  • Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture.
  • Experience in 3D cell culture and preferably organoid culture.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational rigour.
  • Flexibility, resourcefulness and a history of overcoming operational challenges.
  • A genuine enthusiasm and passion for teamwork and learning.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Nice-to-haves:

  • A general understanding and genuine curiosity for cancer biology.
  • Basic knowledge in molecular biology (RT PCR, qPCR, Western Blot, DNA and RNA isolation etc.).
  • Capability to interact in an interdisciplinary setting.
  • Strong communication skills.
