ABOUT AVIWELL
Aviwell is a pioneering biotechnology company that has developed Aneto, an AI/ML-driven
Discovery Platform designed to identify natural, native, and sustainable feed additive solutions
that enhance the gut microbiome of livestock. Our solutions improve feed efficiency, growth
rates, and animal health in poultry and aquaculture, contributing to a more economically viable
and environmentally sustainable livestock industry.
POSITION SUMMARY
Aviwell is seeking a strategic and technically adept Director of Innovation to coordinate
and animate the development and innovation of our Aneto Discovery Platform. This role is
not focused on direct team management, but rather on facilitating collaboration across
multidisciplinary teams to advance in-silico modeling, bioinformatics, AI/ML applications, and
data-driven product discovery.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in computational biology, bioinformatics, AI/ML, and
microbiome research, with the ability to synchronize efforts across internal and external
stakeholders to drive innovation and commercialization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Strategic Coordination: Provide technical leadership in advancing Aviwell's Aneto
platform, ensuring alignment between scientific research, computational modeling, and
market needs.
● Technology Development: Oversee the development and implementation of in-silico
models to simulate and predict physiological responses to microbial interventions.
● AI/ML & Bioinformatics Integration: Ensure the effective use of AI/ML and
bioinformatics to enhance predictive accuracy and shorten product development cycles.
● Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and
Program Management to integrate computational and experimental research efforts.
● Facilitation of Multidisciplinary Teams: Animate and coordinate cross-functional teams,
including scientists, data analysts, and bioinformaticians, to ensure efficient workflow
and knowledge exchange.
● External Partnerships: Develop and maintain collaborations with industrial and
academic partners to accelerate innovation and optimize development pathways.
● Business & Regulatory Strategy: Support Aviwell's strategic planning and
commercialization efforts, including regulatory considerations for feed additives and
animal health products.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
● PhD or equivalent experience in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology,
Microbiology, Data Analysis, or a related field.
● 10+ years of experience in biotechnology, with expertise in in-silico methods, AI/ML
applications, and bioinformatics.
● Proven experience in coordinating R&D projects and facilitating collaboration across
diverse teams.
● Strong strategic thinking and ability to bridge computational science with business
applications.
● Excellent communication and facilitation skills to engage multidisciplinary teams.
● Fluency in English (French is a plus).
PREFERRED SKILLS
● Experience with computational simulations, bioinformatics tools, and AI-driven
modeling.
● Familiarity with feed additives, animal health, or microbiome research is an advantage.
● Knowledge of regulatory frameworks for feed additives and animal health products (EU,
USA) is a plus.
● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.
