The Power Management System Integration / Grid Connection Engineer is responsible for providing technical support in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), Integrator, and Supply project modes. This includes overseeing Power Management System (PMS) / Power Plant Controller (PPC) topics during the pre-sales, project execution, commissioning, and operational phases, with a focus grid connection process, French Grid Code compliance, network and cybersecurity best practices.
- The ideal candidate will also have experience working with aggregator interfaces in addition to interfacing with grid operators to ensure smooth, secure, and efficient integration of BESS solutions into the energy market.
- Take technical responsibility for tendering activities related to PMS/PPC, supporting the sales team during the pre-development phase of new projects.
- Lead the Request for Proposal (RFP) process with the Procurement Department and Supply Chain for turnkey or integrator proposals.
- Ensure clear and effective technical communication with customers and development teams during the early project phases, focusing on communication and network integration aspects.
- 2. Expertise & System Design:
- Provide expertise in the sizing and communication architecture of energy storage systems, including knowledge of network protocols and communication interfaces essential for system integration.
- Manage interfaces for control commands between Battery Systems and Power Conversion Systems (PCS), with an emphasis on network connectivity and data flow management.
Duties:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Energy Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with BESS or related energy storage technologies.
- Advanced certifications in energy systems, grid integration, or cybersecurity.
- Strong knowledge of the French Grid Code and relevant national regulations related to grid connection for energy storage systems.
- Experience working with energy aggregators and market participation in demand-side management, virtual power plants (VPPs), or similar programs.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity standards for operational technology (e.g., NERC CIP, IEC 62443) is a plus.
- Knowledge of network architecture, communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC), and industrial control systems (e.g., SCADA, PLC).
- Proficiency in implementing cybersecurity measures such as encryption, access control, and threat detection for industrial systems.
- Familiarity with IEC 61850 or other communication protocols used in power systems and grid integration.
- Fluency in French and English is required
