Responsibilities

Digital Marketing and Sales

  • Connect Ananse to online audiences, especially targeting global audiences with an interest in Africa and African fashion
  • Define and implement digital campaigns to achieve sales growth
  • Design and implement campaigns to raise awareness and adoption of Ananse as key ecommerce partner for African fashion designers
  • Develop and implement ecommerce strategies to produce optimal conversion rates and sales through CRO analysis, analysing new/returning consumer flows, developing on-site personalisation, reducing bounce rate and testing content
  • Optimize conversion points in the marketing funnel including landing pages, website calls to action and lead generating forms including end to end tagging, tracking and attribution logic
  • Define and develop ecommerce KPI framework to measure and track KPIs to ensure growth
  • Provide analysis and performance reports including daily weekly and monthly reporting of KPIs and recommending actions to improve performance
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement web and ecommerce content for product launches, lead generation campaigns, videos, customer education and SEO
  • Implement demand generation programmes including email, paid media, social media, blog channels, paid search, SEO, affiliate programmes and other web-based marketing programmes
  • Evaluate ecommerce campaign spend effectiveness to ensure positive ROI and ensure data driven learnings for future campaigns
  • Develop a marketplace marketing plan in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and partners
  • Work with tech team to optimise UX/UI to improve user experience and increase sales conversion
  • Research industry trends and technologies to identify opportunities to bridge gaps to achieve business objectives

Merchandising

  • Develop partnership value proposition and digital marketing programmes to make Ananse the preferred marketplace for African fashion designers
  • Work with designer liaison team and fashion merchants to maximise inventory on the marketplace
  • Manage weekly inventory reports for the marketplace
  • Ensure marketplace copy and meta data are fully optimised to maximise traffic from search engines
  • Develop and implement inventory plan to match the sales plan
  • Daily and weekly sales reporting to management

Operations

  • Develop action calendars to ensure required actions are timeously completed
  • Develop content plan for the ecommerce platform and ensure content is regularly updated
  • Monitor product reviews and customer feedback to ensure high merchant rating, customer feedback scores and provide continuous feedback loop to merchants for product improvements
  • Continuously look for ways to improve overall site performance, sales, AOV and LTV.
  • Develop and deliver ecommerce and digital marketing training to support targeted and current fashion merchants on the Ananse ecommerce marketplace platform
  • Provide support to Marketing/Communications and Tech Development teams as required
  • Provide the CEO and management team with input into strategic plans

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an e-commerce marketing or sales role essential
  • Relevant Bachelors or Masters degree
  • Fluency in French would be a distinct advantage
  • Good understanding of web technologies, browsers, analytics, reporting and content management systems and processes
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of web analytics tools like Google Analytics
  • Experience in fashion or ecommerce marketplaces would be a distinct advantage
  • Must possess keen eye for design aesthetics
  • Strong knowledge for developing consumer facing ecommerce sites and omnichannel marketing campaigns
  • Track record of exceeding revenue targets
  • Strong knowledge of developing consumer facing ecommerce sites and omnichannel marketing campaigns
  • Ability to organise and lead in a cross functional workspace
  • Experience with African Culture
  • Willingness to travel in Africa
