This job is a unique opportunity to participate to the adventure of a fast-growing and globally recognized startup, and to join a high-level technical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science, mathematics, and cybersecurity with a passion for pushing the boundaries of what is currently possible in the field.

Main responsibilities and duties

The research and development engineer in post-quantum cryptography, is responsible for designing and implementing standard cryptographic algorithms and protocols that are resistant to attacks from quantum computers. This will involve staying up to date with the latest research in the field, identifying areas for improvement and innovation, and developing and testing new solutions.

According to its profile and the product road map, the Cryptography Research and Development engineer, for cryptography software integration takes in charge the following duties:

  • Implementation of Post Quantum Cryptography algorithms (NIST or recommended by EU agencies) and development of CryptoNext Quantum Safe Library in various languages (C, Assembler, RUST…); works on side channels attacks and countermeasure, efficient implementation in IoT / embedded environment.
  • Design and implementation of communication protocols and cryptographic objects (TLS, IPSEC, PKCS#11, X.509…) in post quantum or hybrid post quantum mode and integration with various cryptographic tools (OpenSSL, BouncyCastle…)
  • Formal security proofs
  • Network, DPI probes.
  • Integration of CryptoNext software with various solutions (VPN, HSM, PKI, digital signature, blockchain…).
  • Test and validation
  • Collaborate with other team members and cross-functional teams to drive innovation and solve complex

CryptoNext software solutions are produced with several computer languages: mainly C, and also Java, RUST, Assembler and for various operating systems (Linux, Windows, iOS, Android…) and processors (Intel, Arm, PowerPC, …).

Qualifications & Experiences

CryptoNext Security recruits a variety of profiles: post-docs in cryptography, senior R&D engineer in cryptography, leaders with experience in project and team technical management are welcome.

5+ Years individual experiences in the related fields with a significant experience in a software company / department in a large corporation in the context of a cybersecurity vendor, IT application or hardware provider, ideally with international teams or clients are welcome.

Qualifications expected:

  • A strong background in cryptography, with experience in areas such as public-key cryptography, symmetric-key cryptography, hash functions, protocols and frameworks such as OpenSSL.
  • Experience and strong background with programming languages such as C or Java.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively
  • Ability to work independently, in the collaboration with a team, with engagement, rigor and pro-activity.
  • Good French & English communication both oral & writing skills.
