The Applications Development Scientist role provides technical support for the execution of technical projects and the management of customer queries related to analytical methods. The Scientist provides an essential link between the expertise of Sr Scientists and the internal customers, ensuring the continuity of the services for testing capabilities.
The Scientist will participate in the development and validation of the prioritized projects and activities in wet chemistry, physical measurements and immuno-assays techniques as assigned by the Research Manager in delivery of projects and activities to ensure the continual development of regional and site laboratory capabilities.
What are we looking for?BSC in Chemistry or related scientific field
Experiences of 1-2 years in customer service environment is preferable.
A demonstrable record of successful remote peer relationship, able to motivate and engage superiors, peers, direct and indirect associates.
Experiences of 1-2 years working within Food, cosmetics or pharmaceutical industry preferable with focus on chemistry or physical measurement or immune-assays technics
Good communication skills in English.
Flexible and comfortable in working with changing priorities
What will be your key responsibilities?Customer support
Provide daily support to any kind of internal customers queries related to analytical issues, troubleshooting, consultancy and any other request made to the CoE team.
Communicate and engage with MGS CoE associates to effectively resolve issues through customized portal (SNOW), phone, or email.
Be a key resource in supporting internal & external request related to test methods update and improvement in Labvantage software (LIMS).
Develop and maintain strong relationships between customers and MGS CoE associates.
Understand and be competent to explain to the customers the difference in testing such as different methods used (ie. HPLC vs ELISA), time to analyze, and sample sizes required.
Record complaints and provide a professional answer to the customer or direct their complaint to the appropriate CoE team member to address.
Demonstrate composure, professionalism, resilience and flexibility as customer needs evolve
Technical support
Execute bench trials for both method development and method validation in accordance with agreed planning provided, delivering high quality results and day to day documentation.
Participate/deliver robust method validation documentation, including test methods, validation reports as evidence for the suitability of methodology for use
Participate in risk assessment of analysis before starting the bench work and define the needs in collective and Personal Protective Equipment.
General
Participate in customer support governance processes and metrics through the Service Now portal (SNOW).
Assist with the compilation of metrics data from SNOW so the CoE Leadership Team can assess the performance of the team period to period and quarter to quarter.
Proactively engage a culture of safe laboratory behaviors role model best practices and provide open feedback to other Mars Inc. associates when working with regional or site labs
Responsible for contributing to continuous improvement for MGS R&D Solutions
